I went to see all of the top bands in the 70 and early 80s in venues like the local boozer to seeing Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand in the Royal Albert Hall all on an apprentice mechanics wages and still had money for a bag of chips and a brown ale , Times have changed , last year I paid £70 for me and Mrs Conn to see a Fleetwood mac tribute act <laugh>
Led Zeppelin £2.50 in 1975 Yes £1.40 1973 Eagles £4.25 1977 ( pushed the boat out ) The Who at Charlton £4.00 1976 and remember feeling ripped off paying £1.20 on the door to see the Feelgoods in a grotty pub in Canvey isle

No I was delivering 12 barrels of beer to a pub and the traffic warden told me to go to the car park about 500 yards away and I lost the plot and he ended up in a heap on the floor <laugh>

Yes, bound to have done. I see plenty of faces around who look very familiar but I'm struggling to remember who I am most of the time.

At the TV Smith gig, a very attractive young lady smiled at me and gave Mrs B a big kiss and a hug.We both recognised the face but today, a week later, we still can't place how we knew her...<laugh>

I must have lost my way. I got into Classical Music at the Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall. My mates thought I was nuts. But one of my very few achievements was to talk them into going with me on a couple of occasions!
    A Tottenham Boy into classics!
But I weakened a couple of times.....Dusty Springfield and Johnny Cash live!

Agree. Love the concert (really loved George) but Joe was the one to get the tears flowing in that show.

Very good. As that song shows he is a big fan of George Formby and highlighted for me how filthy formby songs were. Love it.

I never tire of listening to Sam, and totally agree that it was a tragedy that her vocal chords were damaged so she cant sing anymore.

Her performance at the aforementioned concert for George was just amazing,it was deleted from You Tube for some reason, but everything about her that night was perfect she looked gorgeous, sang beautifully and looked like she was having so much fun

So, it's Tuesday and there's no footage on Youtube from Saturday night's gig. It was a good night with a fairly weird 'Mr & Mrs B type ending'...

The show's over, the lights have gone up and Mrs B and I are finishing our drinks and messing about dancing to whatever the DJ is playing. A couple of women are passing by us, coming back from the loos. They stop and one of them just takes out her phone and starts taking photo's of Mrs B.

We get to talking and one is very interested in what thought of the gig, especially The Boys. As is my wont, I say..."Great....but..." I should have kept my bloody mouth shut. The "but..." was that Honest John Plain (lead guitar and vocals on stuff including 'Don't Hurt Me') didn't play. I was a little disappointed, as he's a very good guitarist and it's great to see as many originals as possible. Nothing else.

She started giving me the third degree over what was wrong with the replacement, the band's performance, etc.Of course, the stand-in guitarist was only her ****ing husband...it could only happen to me!

In the absence of up to date footage, here they are in 2017. Honest John is nearest the camera, the furthest guitarist on stage is the woman's husband

    I'm really sorry.....ok?

    Finally, some footage from Saturday...

Honest John's still missing...but I'm not complaining. Not me. No, sir. Not at all.

The person filming this must have been just a few feet to our right. It's probably the best spot to stand - no pillar and near the toilets. However, the bar that end closes early. So be warned!
