I grew up in leafy Easterhouse and thanks to my white male privilege, I left school with one standard grade at 16 and fell straight into a high earning labouring job on a building site clearing £90 a week.

The hierarchy saw how posh I was and I got an apprenticeship. Unfortunately I met a fenian, her name was McGuire and she got pregnant when I was in my second year of my apprenticeship.

From that moment, I worked every fkin hour under the sun to make sure I could give my partner and daughter a better life than either of us had.

Bought a ****ehole house in Springburn, Declan was born a year or two later and then managed to double my dough (boom time) and bought a new build.

Needed more money so I started my own business which was a roaring success, until I got bumped for £500k during the credit crunch.

Got sequestrated and had to sell my house to pay my Personal Guarantees but started another business.

Bought a plot of land and built my own house and my company turned over close to £2m last year with 5 employees and next to no sizeable overheads.

I’m not into grievance politics, you don’t like your situation then take responsibility and change your situation.

I’ve been lucky (and unlucky) but half the guys I grew up with are junkies, dead, in the jail or bums. The other half have done well for themselves, one guy I went to school with is a CEO of a big American hedge fund.

Changing the UK is not going to make one jot of difference to the scum in the schemes.
