I'm a bit frustrated with some of the commentary I've seen on the killing of Soleimani. The guy was a genocidal maniac, who displaced, tortured and killed people, whilst completely destroying communities. Seeing the likes of Khameini and Rouhani bawling their eyes out makes me sick. He's been painted by anti-Imperialists as some sort of war hero that defeated ISIS (he didn't). He was a monster.

That being said, this doesn't mean the US were right to kill him in the way they did. It should have been raised with Congress. Although it can be argued, under the War Powers Act 1973 and the President's role as commander-in-chief, he was entitled to act in such a way.

Nevertheless, you can be critical of Trump and Soleimaini at the same time. You don't need to pick one side or the other.

That religious leader needs attention. He's supposed to be a clergyman not another Hitler, but no one stops him....and he continues to stir things up.

This is where the Russians are a bit more subtle than the Yanks, a poisoned doorknob is much harder to pinpoint than a drone missile.

Even if Trump was entitled to do it, he still shouldn't have.
They got the Iraqi government to invite him to mediation, then bombed the **** out of him.
It's almost as if he's trying to undermine other countries' trust in the American government, isn't it....? <whistle>

Trump at war with Iran. Now the French are at war with Trump. The world would be safe if he lost his voice for the rest of his life! Is there anyone on this planet he hasn't pissed off? Oh yes. Vladimir.

I'm sure this will be treated with the exact same level of sustained viciousness as Diane Abbott flubbing her maths that one time...
