Just had a quick look. Amount owed to roman is 1 billion. Wages at 285m and turnover at 423m. Luckily we have sold hazard to fund some of this (spent some of it on kovacic), morata and soke fringe players (150m) and lost some high earners (hazard, luiz, cahill). We also have champions league footie as well. Somehow though it might be a long time yet til we become self sufficient. I believe FFP works on a rolling 3 year basis which probably why we have been okay.
You've probably added a ton of value to your youth players this season, too. Great punishment, that. Cheat to sign a bunch of young players, who've since gone on to reach a decent level? Now we're going to force you to play them! How'd you like that, eh?
Abramovic has been continually bailing the club out by way of loans... https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2018/6/1/17416550/chelsea-owe-1-17-billion-to-abramovich Every season there's been a payment from Abramovic, normally a loan around the £70m mark, just to keep within the FFP rules. I think that there's only been a couple of seasons where there's been no loan or one of a negligible level. When Abramovic went fishing for buyers, there were no realistic takers because financially, it's a black hole and always has been. If Abramovic sold up, it's very unlikely that another buyer would be found who was willing to bail the club out in anything like the same way, because there's no realistic chance of resolving it by upping income from the antiquated stadium. Even the richest man in Britain, Jim Ratcliffe wasn't going anywhere near it. As developing the current site is a total nightmare and land costs prohibit buying another site, it is what it is for the foreseeable future.
Yup. Uefa doing what they do best. I'm hoping we dont sign anyone this window (although i think the inconsistency and youth tiredness is starting to hit and show) so its a shame we got our ban reduced.
Just had a quick scan. The accounts say we owe the parent company about a billion but i guess it nakes sense that we probs owe another 200m that was written off (read ages ago). Don't think anyone will be buying chelsea soon, that sum is too much for a loss maker. I will enjoy my time whilst the sun is still shining although this season i havent been watching too much, especially with ****ty VAR in place. Hopefully as said, our finances get better for next year end with all the sales, no stupid high payments for sacking managers and cl footie
Yeah, giroud looks like hes off and i wont bat an eyelid if alonso/emerson/christensen/barkley get shifted Feel a bit sorry for bats who hasnt really had a look in. Very surprised by willian this year. I thought he was done and wanted him gone but hes been one of our standout performers.
It's been running an average loss of getting on for £100m per annum with the cost of competing getting bigger every season. I'd very much doubt that it's ever going to become self-sustaining. Supposedly, you're paying Hudson-Odoi £180k per week with the other Academy graduates expecting something similar. So, even the cheap route of developing your own talent ends up being expensive when there's no financial reality in the organisation.
Think hudson is on 120k (a quick google gives both haha bloody papers). Either way 120 or 180 for someone who has had 6 months of decent football is dumb and we should have just sold him to bayern. Since hes been back hes been very average. You are right apparantly abraham and reece reece james are holding out for those big bucks too. Some non chelsea fans i was debating with on my board think we should be paying them when i said we should make a stand else every single one of the ****ers will be wanting 100k+ having gone on a hot streak for 3 months. Its a joke and hopefully we say no seeing they still have 2 and a half years left. 100k i can about take. More than that and we should just make them play on what they have and make them earn the new rise first
Maguire out for Utd until March/April. You have Kane and Sissoko out until April. As if things weren't bad enough already. Welcome to the self pity club
I'm not a Hammers fan,but they were robbed. 1.I do not like VAR. 2.Who was the moron who decided if the ball comes at you at 100 miles an hour and you don't see it,it's a free kick. What are they continually doing to our game? What next? A sending off for it!
They weren't robbed. It was the correct decision. Stupid rule, but it's been applied fairly consistently. Not sure about the keeper's post-match piss-taking, though:
