Maybe the club shouldn't be expecting as many Chelsea fans as they might imagine. Date and times TBC. There are no trains leaving Kings Cross on either the 25th or 26th, which means a journey via Sheffield from London with extended travel times of 90mins extra. £116 return btw which we know is nothing to those 'loads' southerners. If its an evening kick off on either of those two dates, the last train leaves Hull at 6pm...
Don't see this one as a potential crowd puller at all. SKY and the telly have ruined it forever. The kick off is expected to be moved for the benefit of their subscribers and even if it isn't it will be screened live somewhere if you look hard enough. Might get the 8,000 or so City passholder/members (sic) buying a ticket, but not all of them, and maybe 3/4,000 extras. The only way this might sell out if it was commonly known that if you want to see this, or any game for that matter live, you HAVE to turn up at the ground and buy a ticket. Better still have a pay on the day policy. But rest assured they will still be plenty of 'chelsea' there from Hull, the South Bank, York etc plus all the one game a lifetime types who usually 'support' them from the pub or their front rooms eagerly waving their Look at us 'Wetwang Blues' flags or whoever for the benefit of the cameras. So attendance ? under 18,000.
Well I woke up this morning, Richard Whiteley was my Mayor. I said I woke up this morning, And Richard Whiteley was my Mayor. When he checked out, I checked the weather. Man, now Paul Hudson forecasts there.
Depends on what sort of team Chelsea put out, if it is their first eleven then I would agree it will be tough and a draw would be a good result. If they put out mainly a second stream of players, then you never know if we play to our potential.
I'm not arguing or being contrary or owt, but I can't say I've ever come across a Hull Chelsea fan. Every other big club yes, but never a Hull blues fan. Must be just a coincidence.
Me neither, plenty of Leeds, Liverpool and Man United, even the odd Spurs, but I've never come across a Hull Blue.
Strange but I know quite a few long term Chelsea going back to the 80's when we were ****, a few City boys would go to Chelsea games and England, Rocky, Danny, Boris etc.
It never ceases to amaze me why people give a **** about what football team some other **** supports. Like there is some sort of birthright requirement to support a club of someone else's choosing. I fit every bland, snarky and insulting characterisation of someone who doesn't support their "local" club or the club nearest their birthplace - and if anyone thinks that makes me less of a City fan, or less connected to Hull than I should be, then they can **** right off.
