The one in Wales is a different entity. The situation in England isn’t as clear since the PL broke away leaving the other 3 divisions under the Football League but don’t think they allow a company name in the team in the Football League, so no team could come in the league with one and make their way to the PL though they might be allowed in the lower leagues. Maybe someone knows for definite?

I don't know about Airbus, but Vauxhall motors are based at Ellismere Port, which granted is pretty close to Wales.
They did quite well in the FA cup a few years back, I wander if they'd have to change their name should they move up the leagues.

The FA rules apply to any club above the sixth tier, below that, clubs can call themselves whatever they like.

The most recent club forced to change it's name, were Dunston UTS (Utility Technology Services), who got promoted to the Nation League North and had to change their name to Dunston Football Club (the rules were actually tightened up in 2017/18 as a result of the Allams nonsense).

I thought that Rooney's wages weren't 100% being counted against FFP for Derby, something to do with him being signed as a player coach, with the coaching element of it taking him out of scope for it? Edit - just googled it and the wages (estimated 80k-100k a week) are 100% counted against FFP, though they have a record sponsorship deal with 32 red as a result of Rooney wearing that shirt.....still, having also broken their transfer record and with no other assets to sale and lease back, they gunna be real ****ed. They can take FC Giganticus with them too.

Looking forward to it going tits up for TWS if they go up. Do they do a Burnley or Norwich and not spend a load of money, go down like Burnley did and Norwich look like doing, and set themselves up to bounce back and as Burnley have done establish themselves for a while and build up the infrastructure. It would be most pleasant seeing Leeds get some drubbings. Or do they spend a shedload of money like Fulham and Villa did then end up in **** street after going down? Which would be doubly pleasurable, regular beatings and back down and up **** street.

Scott Sinclair is set to join Championship side Preston. He's left Celtic's Dubai training camp to undergo his medical with the club.

Danny Drinkwater is at Bodymoor Heath having a medical ahead of joining Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season from Chelsea.

Or a Sheff Utd? Being honest about it, it wouldn't take much to turn them into a safe PL side and build from there

Sheff Utd are exceeding expectations, even their own. I hope TWS exceed my hopes for them, which is abject failure and do even worse than I hope.

That’s a great signing for Preston, that.

    Could be, it's a gamble.

You'd imagine this loan must cost PNE something significant relative to them and face to face with what they are likely to gain - in a pricey wage + loan fee. You'd also imagine that even in Scotland he must be on something like 20k p/w.

But, he was a definitely a decent player a few years back. If they get that sort of Sinclair it could be a good move for them.

However, he's hardly played this season - which, unless he's been injured, does not bode well considering the typical level up there.

As said, it's a gamble and if they, as a play-off rival, are throwing their big eggs into that basket, then I am happy with that.

Scott Sinclair is a Hull City oddity. Anyone care to guess why?

So for a six month deal, they're probably looking at circa a million in wages alone - not considering the likely decent loan fee - all outlay with no asset at the end of it.

Unless Celtic are being very generous, the only way it really works out for them is if they go up.

Might be a bit of a Henriksen type situation, they triggered another year on his deal when he was expecting to leave on a free and he's been out of favour ever since.

Has he scored his first goal for three different clubs against us?

Had a scan on one of their forums. Indeed, chatter about a 'contract extension **** up'.

Many claim he's on 35k p/w and was great for about 18 months or so, before progressively dropping off.

Samuelsen played for West Ham U23 in the League Cup final against us in 2016. In the away leg the players who stood out from the herd were Max Clark, Bowen and Tymon for us, and Samuelsen, Reece Oxford and Sam Byram for them. Samuelsen was definitely the best player on the pitch, we couldn't get near him and he was making jaws drop with some of the stuff he did. Whether he could maintain that against Championship players is another matter, but he's a decent larker.
