Ultimately this has been the main problem, it's all well and good discussing squad rotation etc but over the last few weeks who does he rotate with?

Lascelles, Clark, Dummett are all out - so essentially no CB cover, no LB cover, only position Bruce could have realistically swapped around was RB (which he did)

Willems looked knackered at the start as was Lejeune (four starts in just 12 days after an 8 month layoff), but what other realistic options were available?

    From physioroom

    Player Injury Potential Return Date

    Jamaal Lascelles - Calf/Shin/Heel Injury - 18/01/2020

    Paul Dummett - Groin/Hip/Pelvic Injury - 11/01/2020

    Matt Ritchie - Ankle/Foot Injury - 11/01/2020

    Allan Saint-Maximin - Thigh Injury - 11/01/2020

    Ciaran Clark - Calf/Shin/Heel Injury - 11/01/2020

    Ki Sung-Yeung - Other Illness - 04/01/2020

Javi Manquillo - Thigh Injury/Hamstring Strain - No Return Date

Jetro Willems - Groin/Hip/Pelvic Injury Groin Strain - No Return Date

Jonjo Shelvey - Thigh Injury Hamstring Strain - No Return Date

Fabian Schar - Thigh Injury Hamstring Injury - No Return Date

DeAndre Yedlin - Wrist/Hand Injury Hand Injury - No Return Date

The issue is mate he is a victim of his own decisions. There's countless articles where he blames results on a multitude of injuries at every club he's been at. It seems no coincidence and provides handy excuse for crap management.

What should he have done? Switched to four at the back to rest Lejuene, put Matty or Sean Longstaff in midfield instead. I understand Willems would still have to play, but at least he hasn't come back from a season long injury. It's not like the formation helped performance, we were overrun in the centre of the pitch.

This is the clear difference in capable/incapable management. Bruce doesn't have the ability to create any tactics of his own so is clinging to 3 at the back until our league position forces change. The problem I have is when Ritchie, Lascelles, ASM returns they will be flung back in so desperately they will be likely to suffer another injury and won't even be fit. Add this to Brucie's famous training methods and he'll be sat there in another 6 weeks blaming form on the increasing amount of injuries he failed to manage correctly.

I honestly miss Rafa keeping players out as a precaution and settling people back in to the team. If you were a player you would be frustrated at the time but look back and realise it was for the benefit of your long-term fitness. Instead we have ASM hobbling around two games in a row before, inevitably, getting injured. When you get 4 injuries in a game you can see it as a freakish coincidence or, more likely, issues with a manager who is known to run players in to the ground.

Funny thing is, 19 other clubs seemed to manage and we are the ONLY club to emerge with half a dozen new injuries and three defeats in a row.

    The Bruce Effect.

He is a largely crap manager. We have always known this. Any replacement who would accept the job is likely to be equally crap. Stick with him until the summer.

Christ he has to go. This is a carbon copy of the McLaren situation. Everybody - except, of course, our thunder-**** owner - can see what's going to happen. But it'll be too late, again, and there'll be no Rafa Benitez coming in this time.

Sticking with in still - 6 points off 5th, 5 off 18th so bit to close to call either way currently.

I get why people are upset though we've lost 5 of the last 6 but when you look at the games and results (bar Rochdale) they are pretty much as expected. Palace narrow win, Burnley and Everton narrow loss, Man U and Lecister run ragged.

TBH we either sack him today and give a manager 3 weeks transfer window or stick with it till the summer come what may.

What he (Ashley and Charley) NEED to do this window is get rid of 4-6 players not being used and bring in a decent striker. How can we go from getting Cisse for 9m to Joelinton for 40m in the space of 9 years is a travesty (although I'm adamant the lad is an inside forwards playing off the wing not a n out and out striker)

Read that Joelinton played off Belfodil for Hoffenheim, never up front. Most opinion is he's not a striker. He's effectively right side of a front three, but in the current NUFC set up that means back-tracking right midfield - which he's not. Simply put, this is what happens when your manager isn't selecting players. Joelinton does something we don't need. Bruce isn't clever enough to work that out. Ashley's set up is such a random, low-rent mess this **** has happened yet again.

What I don't understand is how Wonder Bruce can watch and not change it for over half a season, yet we're not supposed to blame Bruce for anything?
