It's one of the devious side-effects of the referee's agenda that we end up at war even with supporters of clubs we'd previously gotten on with.

Don't have any major issue with Newcastle as a team. At the end of the day, we wouldn't be caught up in arguments with them if it wasn't for the corrupt performances by the men in charge. We can take umbrage with Barton's challenge, but ultimately it was the referee's responsibility to make the correct decision.

Newcastle fans are obviously not going to want their great comeback tainted with accusations about the referee, but we're angry because we think Dowd is a cheating lapdog ****. Hence, we're going to end up at each other's throats.

Somebody's winning out of this, and it isn't us.

    It is silly.

I have all the respect for Arsenal Football Club. Just a sensational team when they want to be but they do have their moments where you think, 'you are much better than this'.

Their fans have always been quite gracious with us, and I think both sets of fans have a good understanding of each other.

Would love nothing more than to see Arsenal win the league this year.

    Friends?

I know the point of this thread is to not argue amongst fans because of refereing decisions but as far as I could see there was nothing wrong with Barton's tackle, what is the issue you have with it?

Newcastle fans are my favourite set of fans in the league. And the fairest I ever saw on 606. The OP is right - it is an unfortunate side-effect, Happened last week with Everton as well.

A lot has been said in the heat of the moment.

Arsenal are a fantastic football club.

On Saturday we made a fantastic comeback.

A game of two halves, first one to Arsenal and Second to us.

I look forward to another classic at SJP next season.

Why did Newcastle have that goal disallowed? There was nothing wrong with it. I'm glad Dowd is being investigated after that decision tbh.

He was awful, not just for us, but also for that decision as well.

The amount of managers pissed off with refs in the last week is insane.

Although, tbf, the refs get all the stick, but it's the linesmen who are absolute bollocky-faced ****s.

Yeah the refs really are poor right now. Wolves should have been down to 10 on Saturday but we were awful and got exactly what we deserved from that game.

I don't think anyone has any problem with Arsenal fans (or any other fans for that matter) claiming that referees and assistants are ****e. They've been making ****e decisions long before any of us graced these forums, and they'll continue to make ****e decisions long after we're all pushing up daisies.

The main problem people seem to have is when Arsenal fans (or any other fans for that matter) start claiming that the ref must be cheating. That, combined with the selective vision by some fans, who claim Barton should have been sent off whilst conveniently ignoring the disallowed goal, obviously leaves a bad taste, particularly for the Toon fans who've seen their team put in a monster performance and claim a ridiculously unlikely point.

I think if people would just accept that refs have a difficult job, with no action replays, multiple points of view, or even time to consider their decision, the forums would all be a much happier place. Refs **** up. They don't cheat.

nothing else to go on about. were still hung up about loosing a 4 goal lead and we got wolves at weekend. they'l be on a high after wreaking man u's unbeaten run (they were never going to do the 'invicibles' were they) and they could beat us too if we dont buck up the defence
