No evidence of racist abuse.

 

I give it three minutes before the Chelsea faithful start hurling abuse at Anton Ferdinand...

 

It's no great surprise at this point. It's also unlikely to do us much good either. We were convicted in the media as soon as the allegation was made.

 

This is the line in the statement that is going to be happily ignored by people with their Narratives written weeks ago

We fully support Antonio Rudiger with the action that he took - however there is no evidence to corroborate or contradict the allegation and as such neither ourselves nor the police are in a position to take any further action.

 

To be fully impartial on this, it is possible that he misheard booing as a monkey chant and so he may have acted properly based on what he heard, but just got the nature of it wrong. He was being booed pretty hard for his part in getting Son sent off.

 

It appears that the only definite racist abuse at the game was by a Chav supporter at Son. I await appropriate comment in the media

 

You missed the word "verified" there

 

My guess is he misinterpreted the “who, who, who let the yids out” chant. To a foreign black player, it’s easy to think that’s monkey noises if you’re not familiar with our chants - which he obviously won’t be.
