Every week will be excuse after excuse and he will push this unlucky with injuries cart all the way until may and its his bloody fault . I think we could well go down mate ... i think we would easily have stayed up if he had sacrificed a couple of the last 3 we were always gunna lose anyway for getting our 1st team patched up.
Not sure what people realistically expect Steve Bruce to do? He's employed by the club he's always wanted to manage. He doesn't personally oversee contract negotiations and can only advise the board as to who he wants to stay. Players never seem to be criticised for their greed or want-away behaviour.
Not take the job in the first place? What self-respecting genuine Newcastle fan would take up managing under MA's regime and become his mouthpiece? It's often forgotten he turned us down twice before, when we were in far better positions than we are now. The difference between now and then is Brucie was looking at ending his career in the Championship, not taking over from Fergie at Man U.
You could write a very, very long list of people who would LOVE the opportunity to manage Newcastle United.
My son is currently a Toon fan, but I think it's a mistake. He's under 10 - has anyone else encouraged their kids to follow a different team? Not a "big 6" but a team with ambition, like Wolves, Leicester, etc.? I just think it's unhealthy to be involved in a team as toxic as this. Everything about it is utterly horrendous and it's not going to get better 'til Ashley sells.
Can't agree with this. I've been a Toon fan my whole life and have not seen a Major Trophy but it's about supporting the CLUB and not the current Regime.
You'll have to explain the difference to me, as Mike Ashley seems to have been hell-bent on taking the quote from SBR and proving it wrong.
I'll give it a go... I have supported Newcastle United my entire life because that's where my family are from. The roots of my existence are based in Newcastle upon Tyne and my love of football took me to SJP (actually my Grandad did when I was 8 years young). That was in the early 1980's and despite the lack of any major success, we always loved going to games. Newcastle United is OUR club. No, we have never owned it in the financial sense and never will. It's not about the latest players, Manager or Owner, it's about the community. The City of Newcastle. I have seen plenty come and go and it saddens me that people would encourage young Geordies to follow a club outside of their own City because of a higher possibility that club might achieve more. I have thrown my toys out of the pram before... The sacking of Chris Hughton sickened me amongst countless other things over the decades. I always return because I know that I simply cannot look away for long. Newcastle United is my lifetime affliction and as much pain as I have experienced supporting it, I cannot and will not look anywhere else. I simply could not. People will choose their club and I have chosen mine. #journey/notthedestination
The question was should I not inflict that on my son. I'm the same as you - all I can do is walk away from the game, not just the club.
Your Son can decide for himself but, NO, you certainly should NOT try to direct him away from his home club.
