Wouldn't be surprised to see us somehow jump the queue on a decent player from the same stable in the future.
We did when we signed max ... same agent ... barca were one club interested... i think something went on
His record says he scores once every 4 games... In Austria. There are 'kids' of 17/18 playing in the Premier League now so 23 really isn't that young. Perhaps this is all a bit harsh on the man, but having arrived for such a huge fee (doubling the previous record) is it wrong to expect more than we've seen so far?
Why? It's a bygone era and is irrelevant. If Joelinton is not a striker, why give him #9 and play him as a striker? Why pay such a huge fee for someone who clearly cannot perform? Questions for 2020.
Endless questions, never an answer. Charnley sends the odd sound byte, Nickson is hidden somewhere and Bruce is a ****ing gobshite. His latest quotes of “he’s just a kid” and “he’s got to keep trying” seem woefully misjudged, in as much as he’s not a kid and he’s not even ****ing trying.
There should be a Spanish Inquisition style inquest into this, mind. He really is a horrendous player. It’s impossible to see any glimmer of ability, he literally has nothing. The fact Ashley mentioned him by name suggests something really funny is up with it.
I feel sorry for him he's the joke of the century... not his fault... like you say I cannot see anything he's good at ... even his touch is dreadful and he's Brazilian ffs... I do think his confidence is the reason for that though... he simply cannot be that bad, so there's a glimmer of hope in my mind that if he gets a few goals he will improve dramatically...
He was supposed to “kick on” after both Spurs and Rochdale. We have pulled some miraculous results out of nowhere and the group seems buzzing and happy. He’s a ****ing professional footballer, what exactly does he need? How’s he going to score even once when he plays like a complete donkey. There’s nothing there to work with - he’s slower than Yerry Mina for ****s sake! He has no touch, can’t finish, positioning is absolutely dreadful. I don’t even hear any good stuff from training, he’s apparently off the pace, lazy and hopeless everywhere. it’s an extraordinary situation, for a club like us so readily throw £40m away. I’d love the club to say “no, it was actually £20m” just to take the pressure off but as usual communication seems non existent. It really is the strangest transfer, possibly ever from a Newcastle point of view.
I'm seeing a distinct lack of basic footballing ability, which is worrying. I understand all the excuses, he's not used to the position, he's not used to playing a poor style of football, the league, blah blah. He receives a ball like a person who's never seen one before, whatever style of play we have, be it ****ing Barca standard or Stoke City passing a ball to a mans feet should not look so ****ing difficult. It's like that movie "Ratatouille" I wanna russle through his hair and find the rat that's controlling his legs, because they seem disconnected from the rest of his body. Nature of the game, some transfers work, some don't. This one hasn't.
None, he wouldn't get near their teams. Hell, he'd be nowhere near the squad. Hence why neither they nor Wolves, Arsenal, Spurs, Bournemouth, Norwich, etc.went anywhere near him at £40m.
Don’t get me wrong I think he’d still do ****e. But surely if he had mane and salah on each side of him he’d bag a few. Hell I think I’d even grab a few goals with them two.
