I am still finding it laughable that donald is spinning the line that fpp are/were investing in him as a manager?? Manager of what. A low tier insurance flogger whose net wealth ( in football ownership terms ) is a pittance. A former owner of a non league side who ( a long with sartori and methven ) werent deemed worthy of taking over oxford. Being a lifelong oxford supporter and having sartori behind him , I would have thought would be a match made in heaven. They didnt want a bar of him. That speaks volumes. More disturbing to me is that he gave breathing space to the campbell group who were chased from Falkirk. Not the first and only time they have been chased. From day 1 something hasnt sat right with me re donald. The past 2 or 3 months have only confirmed to me that he is not what we want round our club
Don't think it's ludicrous mate. I don't see it as a traditional investment because there's literally zero risk for them, so it's possible that they would equally give Donald the chance to prove himself because if he has sold him a dud, they could recover their money and move on.
Seriously what has he done that would give anyone confidence he could run a club like safc. 2 very 'meh' managers. Overseen the biggest waste of money on strikers this league has seen or is likely to see. Painting faded seats and cutting costs on aol and sol maintenance and scouting/ recruitment hardly make him the new daniel levy.
Donald will leave someone new comes in.... the likes of us will be here forever... ours is a life sentence. These investors/owners are just temporary custodians of SAFC... for us the club runs through our DNA. All we hope as fans the next lot sat in the directors box, do the right thing
I know, he's not been very good imo, but from their point of view, when they started this he had just seen us fall a few minutes short of promotion and clearly sold them a vision and a plan of some description, even if it was as basic as him basically saying 'I'll take any deal you offer and prove my worth'. The deal is completely risk free for them. If he doesn't do well, they can walk away because theres no obligation or equity involved yet. They have ultimate flexibility to do anything from 0%-100%. It's an amazing deal for them and reflects where we and Donald are.
I feel for Donald a little bit. He's seen an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands, fair play to him. He's now realising that running SAFC is not the same as Eastleigh. He's out of his depth and paddling like ****.
For clarity let's put this to bed, this is an investment/loan by FPP that Donald didn't need to borrow because he or Sartori could afford to put that much in themselves. But in the end they did borrow it after all, but there are no assets of SAFC secured against the loan despite Companies House saying that it is secured against the stadium and training ground. It is specifically to improve lifts at the training ground and the tannoy system in the stadium. Only it hasn't been spent on that because it is intended to set up a new network of scouts, but it hasn't been spent on that either because the full amount is sitting in Madrox's bank account and Stewart is going to pay it back to the Americans, once he sells the club. Only he can't sell the club unless FPP approve who he is selling it to. Hope that clears things up
Well as we haven't spent the 10million loan and are debt free, January should be a breeze on transfers.
Yes something isn’t right with that one. Unless the money is to cover wages/running of the club etc but would that amount to 10 million? Hard to know the intricacies I suppose
The issue with the loan is that if he thinks there's a chance of turning fan opinion round, he'll probably use it as he intended. If he doesn't think that'll happen and he'll end up selling in a month or two, I can't see him spending much of the money he will have to send back.
Just posted this over the road My problem with SD is the lies, half truths and smoke and mirrors since he bought us. If we all remember he said he paid £40 million, then backtracked when it appears he used Parachute payments to fund it He said Juan Satori coming on board would help us with his contacts and funds to take us to the next level. Oh sorry he's busy with his political career now TD joins as a director, a MLF yet leaves for personal reasons and isn't replaced CM our PR genius blames fans, slags off the region then leaves for personal reasons and isn't replaced Tony Coton is appointed Head of recruitment, with no scouts. Then when he takes ill no one apparently to do his job Richard Hill is appointed as director of football? Sporting director? Teaboy? Yet we never hear from him or know what he does The academy has been striped to the bone, we didn't even have enough young players to make 2 teams at the start of the year The FPP fiasco, its a takeover, its not a takeover, its a loan, its not a loan, its needed for running costs, it's not needed. Wtf is it? Despite all the above, he has left twitter and disappeared twice due to alleged abuse and now is selling the club due to a mickey mouse twitter statement. How about some honesty from the owner and then we can concentrate on supporting the team
