No. It was at the time when semi finals were played at Wembley and City were minutes off either extra time and penalties or a replay, thinking back perhaps the reply wasn't an option but the old memory does recall another Wembley visit was within touching distance. Point was that Mike Riley had a huge influence on the result that night and hung his whistle up not long afterwards. In a similar way to Mark Clutterbook who 'retired' from refereeing in the PL and took a job in Saudi or somewhere after an equally dodgy refereeing performance between Arsenal and City at their place which again Arsenal came out on top after some appalling decisions by him effected the result. He returned to refereeing in the PL soon afterwards when the flak had died down.
I just remembered a trip to the emirates where the ref ****ed us over. Ball into the box. Got flicked on by one of theirs and tapped in by someone yards and yards offside. Think my shop came for the punch and missed it but ref thought he got a touch?
On Madely, I think people always want to do each other in these days, the world is not a nice place. It was private, it should have stayed private. On Arsenal, there was that Sanchez handball goal too, which even Shearer said it was part and parcel of the game if I remember rightly. I could be wrong though. It obviously wouldn’t be allowed under the new rules.
