Clever 'tactic' by Bruce. Create a load of injuries so you can blame that instead of admitting to the fact you can't manage.

Injuries are part and parcel of football and it's not a legitimate excuse for poor results.
Bournemouth have an injury crisis as do Crystal Palace.
It's how a squad is managed.

I do feel sorry for Brucey on this regard as past our starting XI I think we have cover at adequate cover in defense only which ironically is where we have the worst of the problems. We have Ritchie, Willems, Manquillo, Lacselles, Dummy, Schar and Clark out at present from the back 5. Past that we have Shelvey and ASM and then fringe players injured further forwards.

The problem is is that where we have cover we have a crisis, 7 prospective defenders out injured so only 4 fit and Yedlin with a broken hand and Lejeune back from 18 months out are walking wounded. Further forwards Shelvey is replaceable with S.hlong-staff but ASM is not replaceable and our biggest outlet on the counter. Need a winger in in January and replace Atsu who is just not up to scratch.

Joelinton and Miggy out wide with Carroll up top is the only way I see us playing the next few games although we may be forced to switch formation with the injuries at present. If we only have 4 defenders fit I think we should go 4-3-3 with the Longstaffs and Hayden in the middle and the 3 up top as mentioned then which ever defenders are fit.

We definitely need someone in in Jan to help out because after Leicester we've got serious injury issues. We've got massive full back problems with Mankey, Yedlin, Jetro and also Richie still out. Dummy is apparently close but isn't really a full back if you ask me and Krafth is total carp. We need a wide fwd player also.

We could give Sterrya chance, he deserves it. Went out on loan and did well.
