When I realised that Liddypool last won the league 30 years ago my 80s induced hatred of them lessened a little. After all, they're not Arsenal are they? Robbo looked a massive potential with us and he's pushed on to be an excellent player in an excellent team. It's obviously the perennial whiners year so good luck to them. Although if it goes tits up, that'll be funny too.
Of the so called "Top 6" clubs, the only one I'd (sort of) root for. It's nice to see our ex player "Robbo" doing well - Jock & all Always dis and does work his balls off. Notwithstanding a "loose" and totally extinct ( 80 years plus my mother told me) family connection with those parts, they were the only decent team from England on the telly in the 60's & 70's. Gotta look beyond the supporters imo. As a crowd - they're a lift no doubt. Second half begins...
Best bit in that game for me was Origi tracking the "overlapping centre half", and taking the ball clean off him in the Liverpool box. It is all very well knowing how the opposition play, but coming up with the master plan, and motivating the players to carry it off takes a very good manager. Meanwhile in Manchester, a manager has been informed by Pogba's people of the need for foot surgery.
just watched a youtube vid of robertson providing the first goal. interesting what the commentator has to say about it. "that's a ball for robertson. the whistle stays down. salah is there and salah scores" the whistle stays down?
Curtis Jones, 18 years old, full 90 mins in front of a home crowd, against Everton, wins it with a screamer. How much better can it get for him.
