Ok forget about Shelvey for a min and think of Lingaard and delph? See what i mean about the politics that occur within the England setup.
Players for lesser teams very rarely get chosen

Cheers, another point is that Bruce was often criticised with being responsible for having too many injuries.

They had 4 today In the first 50 minutes.

Is this why he starts well then fades do you think

Went off half time, threw the towel in apparently, told Brucey was injured, yet hopped and skipped out of SJP straight to stowell street...

Is this the same Shelvey who can’t be guaranteed a starting place in a struggling Newcastle team. Take away the odd good pass and he actually contributes very little. England can’t afford to carry a player in hope that he will make a good pass in a game.

I personally just don't rate him. Grealish, who comes across as a bit of a knob, has got a very good chance of making the England squad soon given his performances and goals over the past season and a half.

no idea why but shelvey always improves the mags, when he is out for a while their results seem to suffer.

not going to join in the 'slag him off cos he is a mag' brigade, i think he is a decent player but is prone to his outbursts and never seems to keep up the same consistency as when he first returns to the team, seems to end with another 'injury' or him being dropped again.

not sure he would fit the england team at present though.

I ****ing detest Grealish. But he’s twice the player Shelvey is. i remember them going on about his assists to Gayle in the championship. All he ever had to do was put it over the top. I also watched him 6 stud someone on the side of the head. Certainly looked intentional. The mags said “head was down and he went fir the ball” but he went with all studs around waist height.
    Don’t rate him personally either.

    Shelvey is today, nowt more.

He’s a million miles from England class, a trillion.

Delph? 4 times the player. Lots of heart, lots of energy, and carries his weight in any team. Played a lot of games for Pep for a reason.

He’s a galaxy clear or Shelvey (and a galaxy short of the young midfielders we have coming on now).
