Could you not have started a new thread for the worst XI? And taken all your miserable chums with you?
McShane in the worst team of the decade. Do me a favour. He might have made an error or two but the bloke played his heart out when he put the shirt on. He was a main stay at one point and a real fans favourite.
Perhaps you are right Chazz but what I really meant is that he never left anything behind on the pitch at the end of the 90. I like that in a player and he certainly should be nowhere near being in the worst team of the decade.
Oh I agree not in the worst. Just mainstay isn’t how to describe him Chester and Davies were and Dawson
I was going to post a massive rant but thought better of it. I am definitely bias towards the man, he might be my fave City player ever. McShane? The man Sergio Ramos looks up to? Worst XI? Even if he had done ****ing nothing but absolute ****, he wouldn't be in the worst XI for one sole reason alone: Cardiff. please log in to view this image I can feel the joy and ecstasy oozing from this photo. What a ****ing day.
What a ****ing decade Quill. Promotion to the Premier league again, FA Cup final, European Football. Sure there were some downsides but all in all I would take another like it. Only one thing I would change really and that is just obvious.
People rightly pointing out the idiocy of putting Macca in a "worst" XI - but what about Nobby Solano too? I can't understand what he was doing in that XI - he may have been past his best but he did a decent job.
Re MacShane: loaned out by two different managers at Championship level: "On 16 February 2011, he joined Barnsley on a two-month loan, but Hull were given the option to recall him after 28 days.[20] He scored his first goal for Barnsley in a 4–2 win over Bristol City on 9 April 2011.[21] On 13 January 2012, McShane joined Crystal Palace on a one-month loan.[22] McShane's loan at Palace was extended until the end of the 2011–12 season on 31 January 2012.[23] Hardly a ringing endorsement. He lost his mojo completely for about two seasons, having lost all his confidence in 2009/10 with bad errors at Stoke and then at home v Burnley (who thrashed us, having not won an away game all season) Steve Bruce rehabbed him and his final game v MUFC was arguably his best, when he got a gashed thigh from from some sneaky Manc **** but battled on.

Belaid ! Bellend Must have tried to blank out the memory of this lad. Nige/Shakey/Walsh had their hands tied budget-wise but by and large turned up some gems like Ronsenior. Gerrard , Hobbs etc. But Belaid though. Anyone remember Basso the Bristol keeper from 2008 who we had briefly ? Decent enough didn't disgrace himself. By common consent we wwon the transfer window when we got Diame, Ramirez and Ben Arfa. All had the talent, but Diame was injury prone, Ben Arfa was mental and Ramirez was inconsistent. If they'd all reached their potential we would have really established ourselves in the PL
