The only time i remember seeing a lengthy look at the VAR team making a decision, most of the time was spent calibrating the thing (clicking on the penalty spot etc). Not sure whether the difficulty of the decision has to much effect on the time spent on it.

Of course you can say to get rid of line lines and only use the naked eye if you want.

Don't know if mentioned but Souness has suggested that only the position of the feet should be considered for offside decisions....decisions would be quicker as no questions about whether it is a shoulder or an arm over the line.

Sensible. That is what made Pukki's the worst of the weekend with his sprint stance.

No arguments there then, don't think we've had a particularly long wait after a goal yet either.

Which, if VAR was being used in the way I want, would be the response to all VAR overturned decisions.

Although most of the mass, and therefore momentum, is in the torso. A player leaning forward has a big advantage over somebody with his legs forward which is why you are getting so many offsides from the top of the torso rather than the legs. In an ideal world i would judge offside by a players center of mass if i could.

That being said, unlike the daylight rule it doesn't actually give either side an unfair advantage as both can lean forward so I would be okay with it if thats what people wanted to do.

My problem with Pukki's is the quality of the camera and the angle.

The offside rule was introduced to stop goal hanging, so am not worried about miniscule (and largely imaginary) advantages from one player being an inch ahead of the opposition. It is better to have a straightforward rule that can be applied consistently, so looking at feet only seems a reasonable idea. Does not involve an opinion....just draw a line. There will be close calls as now, but not so many arguments.

But the torso moves slower than feet. by far feet is the least accurate to measure.

I dont think scrapping offside is a good idea :emoticon-0110-tongu

Honestly, if you want clearcut, then just following VAR is the most clearcut and accurate way to make a decision.
I understand not wanting to waste time for small improvements in accuracy, but i dont understand where the controversy is coming from on some of these decisions.

Surely it would be in a different room to the stadium?

Regarding offsides VAR has got every decision correct. I get that some have been close but according to the rules of the game then it's been 100% correct. Also the images we see on tv are nothing like the ones they use in the VAR bat cave.

I've not seen it that closely but i'd be very surprised if it wasn't correct.
