Been a while since I've given Cedric MOTM (although I could have easily given it to Stephens or Bednarek). He won about as many headers today as in the rest of his Saints career combined.

Sadly for Redmond, his goal against Chelsea was my goal of the season for just one week. That pass. That touch. That finish.

 

Fair enough. But I wasn't alone in thinking he was awful.

 

Another good performance. Was the offside goal the only shot Kane had? The defence certainly kept him quiet, although we were aided by some extremely poor crosses from their flanks. I thought they had signed Cedric for a moment watching the crosses miss their targets.
I would imagine JWP and PEH being rested Saturday as they have worked their balls off over recent weeks.

 

Mourinho apologised (sort of)….said he apologised because he was rude, but he was rude to an idiot. Presumably the coach bending over the tactics book/tablet (?) had either taunted Mourinho (or Mourinho thought he had). Jose is the idiot...should be adult/experienced enough not to get riled. Was clear enough for me, hand above his head and far enough away imo. Definitely outside this natural silhouette thing they've gone to this season.

 

The ball struck a hand that was head height, but from a cross struck from just 6 yards away.
It was one of those that had the ref given it VAR wouldn’t have overturned it, just as it didn’t overturn the decision not to give it.

 

It was above head height and he leapt up with his arms in an unnatural position. Handball rule is getting stupid if that is not cast iron a penalty.

 

I had a great of view of it live and was surprised it wasn't given by VAR. But we've had our fair share of breaks with VAR that I just accepted it. And we won so who cares now?

Mental to think we're disallowing goals for a slight brush on the arm 45 seconds before the ball hits the net but we'll seemingly need a Maradona for a penalty to be given for handball.

 

It wasnt a penalty. I've said before i want a lesser punishment for those types of issues but that was too quick too close to call that deliberate.

 

Phew, my heart rate has only just returned to normal, SMS has not sounded like that since Spuds from last season probably.

I'm going to praise the whole team and Ralph because it was a team effort but Danny and Jack were stand outs. Jack's reading of the game has improved immensely and he almost plays like a sweeper at times and Danny's goal was pure class, it's amazing what confidence can do.

 

Far better than the previous rules imo.
