I'd just like to congratulate a Football Club that sits in the higher echelons of the Premier League and that are still unbeaten.

That have won both League Cup games and are looking forward to the 4th round draw on Saturday.

That have stretched there unbeaten run to 10 games!

Who am I congratulating? Man Utd surely...? Man City then...? No. Step forward Newcastle Utd football club of course!!

...........and this is after having the worst pre-season in living memory, after (mistakingly) selling top scorer and captain Kevin Nolan, after selling want-a-way (best) left back in the league Jose Enrique, after (wrongly) releasing most influential player Joey Barton for free, after having a net spend of precisely zero on transfer fees and after (annoyingly and frustratingly) not spent any money on a decent striker to replace Andy Carroll!

NUFC are without doubt THE most resilient football club in the Premier League and it's history. It doesn't matter what handicaps come our way, from all kind of directions including self inflicted, this football club will always carry on regardless and fight to win football matches. Harchester Utd in Dream Team can only claim to have had more sh*t thrown against them....and they were crap!

To be a NUFC fan is something of a unique experience, just going through last night's 4-3 thriller at Nott'm Forest is the latest example. Long may the season continue and anyone who thinks Blackburn is just gonna be a straight forward win....very optimistic of you.

    HWTL!

Oh and their is one more thing....its always emotional! (i'm into Lock Stock all of a sudden...)

Where is AB?. We had a discussion on this the other day. I knew I had seen both them written on here. HWTL looks better IMO but is factually wrong as it is really HTL.

Anyway.......Good article, when will the press ever give us credit for it though??

Mebbe by mackems. Howay vs Ha'way.

Have to disagree with the OPs middle paragraph, letting Nolan go was not a mistake with the central and attacking midfielders we now have, and Barton wasn't worth the hassle for one good season in four (before even going into how one dimensional his right wing play made the team). I don't give a toss about net spend, all I care about is the clear improvements to the team. Oh, and Jose was never the best left back in the league...

I always put HWTL as it looks better and people understand it better, but it's up to you.

Anyways, i'm really enjoying this season but won't get ahead of myself. I think it's nice that we're all happy about the way things are, it makes a welcome change from everyone pissed off about the board and having players on twitter feeling the need to have their say about the clubs situation.

Saturday against Blackburn is our next challenge, and if we win and the unbeaten record is still intact, then we may get some well deserved recognition, but if not, who cares?

    HWTL :)

I agree our midfield is better with Cabaye and Tiote in their. But that doesnt mean you automatically sell Nolan. If anything, I would have loved to have seen Nolan in front of these 2 behind Best and we may have a couple more goals and points to our name seeing as Ba etc cant hit a barn door.

As good as our results have been, Obertan has done nowt. With Barton on that side we would also have a couple more games and points to our name. We still miss his influence in the team. Hopefully we will play Marveaux over their from now on.

The net spend wasnt really meant as a negative comment but more of a fact. When a team has no net spend ie Everton, Arsenal they usually dont improve.

Its arguable whether Jose is the best, its why I put it in brackets, but he gives Ash Cole and Evra a run for their money.

All I want is a nice solid 2-0 win against a crap Blackburn team........

    HWTL! HTL!

    :D

It also doesn't mean that we give Nolan a massive payrise to match West Hams offer though, it'd be crazy to have a backup player higher paid than our starting midfielders (apart from Smith obviously...). As far as writing off Obertan, he's had 4 games, Barton had 3 years of being ****, being injured, being in jail, being **** again, being in the Championship before he finaly decided to put together a run of good games.

Otherwise, yup, bring on Blackburn. HTL!

At first I was getting annoyed about how we're not getting credited for how well we're doing, but now I quite like it. Quietly going about our business not alerting the top clubs to players like Cabaye.

I would say Man Utd are the most resilient.

We have been in decline since our formation in 1992 and now have the worlds most evil men, The Safestyle family running us into the ground. We may of had world class players like Djemba Djemba, Massimo Tiabi and Jonathon Greening but we have had to carry some right ****e like Rooney, Ronaldo and some old fart named Giggs?

Clearly you can see we are the most resilient.

    Not serious!
