Like many I was encouraged by the tranmere result ( more by the style of play given what we had suffered under ross ).
An away win against a team that has recently beaten one of pacesetters is very encouraging and it was good to see gooch playing the way we know he can.
Importantly power and maguire put in a shift that showcased what they are capable of but which they never consistently deliver.
If gooch, o9, maguire, power and Dobson can play with this sort of consistency, maybe the season isnt over .
That wyke is unable to score, and grigg is out of favour is a worry. Any team looking for promotion must have regular goalscorer capable of 15 goals plus per season. I thought macnulty might be it but he seems to have the resilience of darren anderton. We need to send him back sadly.
We are far far from out of the woods.
PP was fond of saying he hasnt become a bad manager overnight. Neither has he become a good one after finally notching a win.

I swear that's Parker who used to post on here?

I never want us to lose, but I do get it to be honest as it's the quickest and easiest way of getting PP out.

If you watched the highlights but not the match:

On the 2nd goal, the clip begins w/Gooch in possession w/some space to operate. Just prior, he breaks through one of those take-one-for-the-team / yellow card type challenges intended to knock the attacker off his feet.

Towards the end of the safc.com highlights, we see O9 rolling around while clutching his ankle. Maguire, anxious to take the free kick, tries to 'roll' O9 over the touchline - just as one might if they were rolling a barrel!

Maguire was grinning like a Cheshire Cat when rolling O’Nien man. He wasn’t “anxious to take the free kick” he was taking the piss!! It was funny as hell
