We did ok yesterday, and a lot better than I did. I got hit in the side of the head on my way back to the car by a large stone that kicked up off a lorry tyre and smashed me in the side of the head, breaking my glasses and leaving me with a nice deep cut. Funny how a few weeks has changed my point of view from "At least we got a point" to one of "Bugger, a couple of points dropped". I guess that is an indication of our progress. Also, now looking at the Spurs match as a game to win, especially with them having Moanio in charge. We again played ok in the first half but didn't really come out the way we should have. We really don't like playing Palace at home but at least we upped the tempo and we really do look like a very exciting team in the second half. Djenepo is worth every penny we paid for him and it will be interesting to see how he develops over the next couple of seasons. The whole team played well although how Cedric can waste so many crosses is beyond me. Our defence looks so much better and now the energy has returned to the midfield we are looking quite good. As soon as Armstrong and Djenepo came on we really went up a gear and looked good for the win, but Danny Ings can't be expected to win every match for us. If it wasn't for some great saves by the Palace keeper we would have had that one and been a bit closer to safety. Oh well, 7 points from 9 is still a great return and if we mash the spuds it will be a brilliant set of results. Happy days and bring on the rest of the season. I just realised, it's nearly the January sales .....
Palace also scored with their only shot on target i believe. It happens from time to time, mainly when two very similar teams play one another.
I got hit in the side of the head on my way back to the car by a large stone that kicked up off a lorry tyre and smashed me in the side of the head, breaking my glasses and leaving me with a nice deep cut ______________-- Glad you're okay, although unfortunate to be hit, it sounds like you had a rather lucky escape as it could have been a whole lot worse!
I was in the Itchen corner and I must say their fans were quite strange and aggressive, a few seemed more interested in goading us than watching the game.
I can’t comment on their fans, but their team came across as feeling “entitled”. There wasn’t a decision they accepted without argument, their anger at decisions that went against them was way out of control. I think that they have a Barcelona complex. Maybe it’s the colours.
I wish I could Beddy but it came close to knocking me out. Fortunately there were a couple of people right by me and they made sure I was ok, but I was a bit wobbly for a few minutes. I'm just grateful that it wasn't a Pompey truck. That would not have been good.
Remember when he told salah. He was going to out score him and everyone was in stitches? Except Danny. Who’s laughing now?
Only just spotted this post. I thought I'd become senile as it wasn't even questioned on MOTD or, if I heard right, on the highlights on OWS. At the time I screamed for the referee to take up sex and travel - but then I always do if a free kick is given against us - and my mate next to me muttered something connected with Tom Daley. Watching the highlights later, it was a blatant dive. Had a similar decision led to a goal against Liverpool, Mr Murphy might have expended as much energy analying that as he did the VAR decision. FWIW, I thought the VAR decision was shockingly awful - but this decision was a dreadful miss by a ref who missed a lot all afternoon.
