Go on, get the whining out of your system, cough up all the bile that has accumulated over all those years, it will be good for you, probably To be absolutely correct we have achieved results in many games this season. So far we have accumulated 51 points which is equal best in the league with the best goal difference and so WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE Don't worry be happy
I asked her three times if she wanted to get in the back of my car but she refused. So I said do you not like me?. Oh yes she replied but I want to sit in the front with you.
Correction: A single result may only get you to the top of the league for the first match of the season. It takes results, plural, to get you to the top of the league after 25 matches.
Seriously though I can imagine Bielsa being absolutely furious about that game. The result is one thing but Leeds didn't control the game, it can't have gone to plan and there were too many unforced errors. On the plus side I thought Eddie played well, if a little rusty, and Jack Harrison gave another top performance.
I think this team tries it’s nuts off every week. I never question the effort. The difference today was the shots went in. Good finishes, deflection, own goal. Birmingham aren’t a bad side despite some Recent results. We’re top of the league and we deserve to be. Bring on the baggies.
For WBA: Roberts to start instead of Klich (for a well deserved rest)? Ayling and Alioski to be given instruction to stay closer to their designated full back areas? Does someone need to fall back to cover them when they romp forward? Is that old fashioned thinking these days? Asking for a friend! Who do you prefer to start on Wednesday? - Eddie N, or - Hattrick Bamford? - Alisoki, or - Douglas?
We have been top of the league at the end of the last 4 decades apparently. Also, I think there has only been 1 team which has failed to go up when top on New Years Day. Every other team has gone on to get promotion. I mean who would possibly feck that up? Idiots! Surely a point is good for both Leeds and West Brom. Can't we make a deal with them. No injuries, no bookings, a point apiece. Swap a few presents etc.
https://fbref.com/en/comps/10/keepers/Championship-Stats Reading these stats I think Casilla and our defence are doing a great job. 50% clean sheets - even Liverpool aren't doing that. If I read it right we are best on shots against too, most of which get saved. They were dribbling over Ayling's performance on Quest too. I think the way we play, especially with Ayling and Alioski bombing forward, we will leave gaps and give opportunities. We need to balance that with what we got the other end. Tough call and I trust Bielsa
You've cursed it I did think of last season when I heard it was West Brom's first loss in 14 and Boro's first away win. Like us against QPR. I'm not liking the thought of two trips to London soon. We need to get over that hoodoo, hopefully against Arsenal.
Having looked at the goals conceded I think the criticism of Casilla is harsh. 1st goal...no chance, so no blame at all. 2nd goal...yes at fault, should have caught it and then would have been awarded a foul, or punched it further away. 3rd goal...did very little wrong, defensive line didn't hold high enough, goalscorer probably just offside, definitely offside if we hold that line better. 4th goal...superb deep cross, absolutely nothing Casilla could have done. All the goals have many lapses/mistakes from numerous players, Kiko could definitely have done better on one of them. Why does Kiko receive the criticism he does ?
Stop slagging Eddie off after his FIRST league start. I mean, Bamford was absolutely hopeless for a good while, but Bielsa persevered and he turned it around. I'm hoping that Eddie gets another game or two under his belt and we can have two strikers fighting it out for that position. It can only benefit the club.
Disagree slightly. I’ve watched the goals a few times, slow mos etc and he was at fault for goals two and three. Just my opinion though Jammy
Already agreed with you on the 2nd goal. Take a look again at the 3rd...he's probably offside, but look how deep Alioski is out wide for no reason, then please tell me what you would expect Casilla to do differently as I'm assuming you think he should have stayed on his line ? One thing for sure he certainly couldn't have got to the ball first in that scenario. If we hold our line at the edge of the box the goalscorer is definitely offside but we've dropped a yard or more for no reason. If we do hold our defensive line then the attacker has to hold his run (or be offside) and then Kiko does get to the ball first in my opinion. Happy to agree with you if you can make a case for your judgement.
I’d be worried with Alioski at left back against Brum, he was caught completely out of position again for their second today (Bellingham had 30m of space to play with as he ran in) - and Phillips is probably too powerful for Gianni even if he is told to stay in position. If picked Douglas would need to be instantly back on song, I’d be happier with Dallas there and Roberts attacking mid with Klich. I think we’ll beat them by the way, they have been flattering to deceive for a month now and while they remain a good side, they are by no means invincible.
Thought the second goal came from a corner Davy ? Agree with you about Dallas at left back, think he should return there for the rest of the season.
You’re right Jammy, I was thinking about the first and Bellingham scored it, it was their number 5 who had the freedom of the city.
