I do, but the side is week and I feel we would be relegated straight back down. It is a glorious chance to go back up considering how poor the division is.

Don't really know, ... If we promote, the Yanks will stay, and collect more parachute money when we get relagated, because they will not invest. ..... If we stay in the Championship, there is a better chance the Yanky Planks will abandon a sinking ship. We may have a decent chance then to strengthen and rise again under some decent new Owners. ...... DIFFICULT. To decide.

The PL has no magic for me anymore. Apart from the top 6 teams where you expect to get beaten, the rest is basically like being in the Championship.

If we somehow manage to go up - we don't have the team to do anything other than be in a relegation fight just like the last 3 miserable seasons we were there.

I'll obviously take it if it happens - no choice, but I'm not that bothered with it - although it's much easier to find live streams in the PL !

I'd be just as happy with Leeds not getting promoted again.

I suspect that we will finish mid table.

Compare this team - and the Manager - with Brendan’s class of 2010/11......

If - and it’s a big IF - we did go up, I suspect that the Yanks would do their best to sell the Club pdq - and hopefully, the new owners would provide transfer funds to give us a fighting chance of staying up.

If we go up we’d need serious investment to have any sort of chance at staying up. The sort of investment we all know the Yanks won’t give us. They’ll pocket the financial benefits plus another cushty set of parachute payments and we’ll get butchered most weeks with a seriously under invested squad devoid of any PL quality.

It's a tough one......it's lovely to get there but horrible whilst there. However, in your case, I could see the Yanks selling to some sucker at a profit for them...which is what they are after and then MAYBE a sugar daddy would invest a bit to keep you there. Then again, it was the undoing of your club's financial situation last time when your owners spent big on wages compared to your income. Our last foray should have put us in good standing since we can hardly have made a loss on the year we were there!!!!

Not for me., not with the yanks here , I've always belived we could compete againgst the best and we did with some memorable wins but just as important performances but now just to be a whipping boy and to allow the yanks the money and the "kudos" of owning a PL club no thanks .They won't put the money in nor spend on players so why give the ****ers the chance to screw us even more .

Fvck me we’re saved. Yan Dhanda signed new terms. Good grief.

In answer to the op. Yes. I fvckin loved being in the best league in the world, well for 5/7ths of it anyway. It all went a bit Tango Uniform towards the end which was really sad to see. So for me, and I shan’t over-think it, fvckin yes.

Yes and no  For all the reasons everyone's stated already.

What's the point of being a fan if you don't dream of some glory but then it's a suicide mission with the ****s in charge.

Chairmans notes for today, so reading that my question is pretty much academic

Welcome back to the Liberty Stadium for today’s festive fixture against Barnsley. I hope you are having an enjoyable Christmas period, which I know will be made even better if we can secure another Championship victory on home soil.

It was great to record a deserved home win over Middlesbrough last time out in a game that saw us score three goals and the visitors suffer two red cards. With a point (which should have been three with two blatant penalties denied) against Blackburn in the previous game, it means we are now two games unbeaten at home – a record we must continue to build on.

And we got our away form well and truly back on track at Luton with an excellent 1-0 win. I thought we dominated most of the game on a very narrow pitch and should have come away with a bigger victory, especially as we had another perfectly good penalty on George Byers turned down.

Yet again I thought our away Jack Army support was magnificent. It makes such a difference and you could see how the players reacted to such fantastic encouragement and support. Thank you.

Writing these notes before our Boxing Day fixture at Brentford, we now have two home games in quick succession, with Charlton arriving at the Liberty on Thursday night. Hopefully we can go into the new year on a high in great shape with everything to play for.

A lot has been mentioned on forums and social media about the future direction of our Academy. As I have stated previously, we continue to keep all aspects of our operations, not just the Academy, under review as we adapt to the restrictive financial life outside the Premier League. Once we have the transfer window out of the way I will provide supporters with a further update.

My aim is to remain open, honest and regular in my communications to supporters, whether it’s good or not so good news. But we need to get through January and complete ongoing reviews first, before I can properly update you. So please bear with me a little longer.

At least season ticket holders can have a free drink on me and the club today. I felt it was important to say thank you for the support throughout the campaign so far, especially as season ticket renewal numbers have been so encouraging since the launch on December 2.

So, all season ticket holders were given a free pint or a hot or soft drink before today’s game. It’s a small gesture which just shows our appreciation for your support. So, cheers.

That support spreads far outside the city, as I discovered when I was invited to Ammanford Town AFC recently to watch their JD Cymru South (Welsh League) fixture against Briton Ferry Llansawel.

There were lots of Swans fans there also supporting their local club. Despite the atrocious weather, you could sense that there was a fantastic family feel to the club. They work closely with the Jac Lewis Foundation, a mental health charity close to the community’s heart, and who were our charity sleeve sponsors for our Carabao Cup tie at Watford earlier this season.

I was looking forward to seeing the legend that is LT10 in action, but he only managed a cameo appearance after being sent off in the first 10 minutes. Some unkind souls mentioned the atrocious weather and Christmas being round the corner having played a part, but I’m sure that wasn’t a factor! And by the time Robbo came on as a late substitute I’d exited stage left to try and thaw out.

A warm Welsh welcome to the directors, staff and supporters who have made the long trip from Barnsley today and a safe journey back.

And finally, a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year to everyone.

    Enjoy the game.

    Trevor

I read that earlier and I got from it, grim times ahead with no investment in the squad and plenty of out going’s.
