In a morbid kind of way, it would be interesting to hear the opposite list from our fans. God, I can think of quiet a few events to add already. Shudder.
I went for PL promotion, JPT and coming back to beat Liverpool, but if it was goals only I would choose 1. Deano's goal v Leeds (a moment of true belief) 2. Long's goal that took us to Wembley 3. Lambert's goal v Scotland (not really relevant, so bite me ) But could have been many others including Fonte's goal v Brighton.
Administration - winding up order -10 Brighton - Gus 1st game Its suppose to be a decade & mine all happened in three months!
Been loads of disappointments, but they don't stick in the memory. Joy on the other hand lives forever.
If we're allowing the first half of 09/10 then I'm having the Norwich jpt match and singing we're not minus anymore against Gillingham as among my favourites.
Jpt, promotion to the Premier League and that Shane Long goal are my 3 choices. Dont think anyone has mentioned Shane's fastest goal, Mane's fastest hatrick, they were great individual moments that were great, and we should be able to dineout on those for a very long time.
So many stand out moments! It has been anything but a dull decade! I’m pretty sure the promotion parties would be right up there if I was at the games. I was at Plymouth away and that was a little taste of promotion party. I loved the JPT win, and was there for that too. But I was confident we would win that, and although it was a great moment it felt like (and turned into) just the beginning. Something that stands out for me is being there for the league cup final. I felt so connected and part of Saints that day. We were up against it, we played some great stuff, came back from 2 down and although we ultimately lost. It felt like we won. The crowd was unbelievable from start to finish and I’ll never forget ‘oooooh gabbiadini’.
Premier league promotion by far for me. Will never forget it, the guys I used to sit next to in the northam never renewed their season ticket, so the last time I ever saw them we ran onto the pitch and hugged Kelvin Davis, then all got lost in the crowd. ****ing brilliant day. I hope they all survived the pitch invasion 2) San Siro 3) JPT For all our moaning, it has been amazing hasn't it
Booooooo... And besides, there’s a few on here who love to wallow in our self pity - so that must rank up there for them. I can only imagine some of them getting themselves into a right frothy mess at the end of that.
I was at the Norwich game with my dad. God it was so cold and we were thinking of leaving early (the only time i would have ever done that - mind you that we as long before Leicester). As we got up, we equalised i think, didn’t we win on pens and that little kid ran on the pitch evading the stewards. For years i wondered if that was you Libs...
Reading some of our threads i think you can tell who is old and who is young. The posts at 1-3am each days are by the bloody youth, and the ones at 4-6 am are the old ones, or those that are starting to get that way...
That game will be forever remembered as a stain on our history, there's no getting away from that. I don't feel that I've completely let it go yet. But, my intention is not to wallow.
