What a superb team performance that was. Every single player put in a massive shift today and it’s hard to know who to pick as the man of the match when everyone gave everything they have. For me, all 10 outfield players deserve it but my choice is Ralph Hasenhüttl. Just watching him through the first half, he knew he had the tactics bang on and as the game progressed we became more composed in defence, pressed harder and didn’t even look like conceding. That’s the best I have seen us play for what seems like forever. We ground Chelsea down, and outplayed them with a real fighting team spirit and high energy. I couldn’t believe what I was watching at times because we just didn’t look anything like the team that struggled earlier in the season. The four key factors for me were: 1. Ralph got his tactics and team selection spot on. 2. Stephens, Prowsey and Nathan really hit their stride today. 3. Stuart Armstrong makes a huge difference to our midfield. 4. We played for each other, and we were really enjoying it.
PEH and JWP play better when Armstrong is there I think is the point Replacing Oriel really, but I'm not unhappy with any combination of those in the 3, as long as one of them is Armstrong
No matter what happens on Saturday, It looks like we will be going into the new year and new decade out of the bottom three. (To go into the bottom three, we need a Brighton v B'mth draw and a Villa win and a West Ham win. If Brighton or B'mth get a result against each other we cannot drop into the bottom three )
Jack Stephens has obviously got his head down and started working hard. He looks fitter and sharper, and was furious at himself for any minor mistakes. I am ecstatic for him, I really hope he can keep it up
When I saw him at Anfield in the League Cup semi-final I thought we'd uncovered a star. Hasn't always lived up to that, but he seems to be believing in himself at last. A defence tht looked a joke a few weeks ago suddenly looked like it knew what it was doing. More please!
Nah, i think that’s bollocks or something. I think it was cos Ronald was a better manager than Poch, or the other way round. I get real confused.
This is the best Christmas present since I got Stretch Armstrong AND stretch Monster on the same day!!
