He joined a gay boyband, commonly known as the Marines, then he got stationed in braveheart land, where they paint themselves blue...
I lived 500 yards from the Ravenscraig site. 9 square miles of ex steelworks now a massive bit of land excellent for exercising dogs. Every cloud eh! I also had three gardens as our house was.an end terrace. All surrounded by a 6ft fence. All my dogs, every dog I've ever had has been trained to high degree. All are trained to walk to heel off lead and all have been placid and good natured dogs. Having young grandchildren I wouldn't have a dodgy dog in my house. In my experience walking 4 dogs isn't any more difficult than walking 1 dog if the dogs in question are trained right.
It's moronic. The only difference is it's left the pubs and entered the stadiums. John Barnes and many others are saying that it's no more common today than it was when he was a player, but of course, each individual player will have a different experience. I mean, Sky Sports highlighting it is good, but listening to Neville and Carra drone on about it and saying "ye mate, we gotta stop it" doesn't help anyone. Their not educated in such an important matter and half of those pundits can barely comment on actual football, the one thing their apparently good at. It doesn't help. Politicians need to address it, but, that's already happened. I mean, lifetime bans, fines, football clubs being punished? What can be done that we aren't trying everywhere? Internationally the eastern European crowds have always been terrible for it, they won't change for years if ever. The Yugoslavians literally saw their country destroyed due to minor cultural differences, so those games will always be full of this ****.
Ah apologies, I will remember all my labels so the bleeding hearts out there won't cry themselves to sleep.
My father told me that I would meet many a **** in life but the colour of a man's skin would not help to identify them in advance. He was spot on. A teaching I have passed on to my kids and will encourage them to do the same to theirs. I've met some wonderful people from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds ... I've also met my fair share of ****s.
I think they should keep doing what they're doing, it's not like 40,000 people are doing monkey chants, it's 1 or 2. Life time ban = 1 less idiot and sooner or later all the idiots have gone forever. If you start stopping matches because 1 person in a crowd of 60,000 might have said or done something racist I think it'll have a negative effect.
Can't say anything these days without being called a racist!! Well yes you can ... as long as it isn't racist, simple. Clear rise in people thinking their racist, xenophobic and bigoted views are acceptable, and airing them. I doubt the views ever have gone away, it's more that in current times for many reasons people feel empowered to raise them in a public forum, including football grounds. Yep it's certainly horrific in certain countries and where the last and the next world cup are being held don't exactly help footballs cause, but it's a touch boring every time their is an incident the level of what about.... **** that it's pure deflection and failure to address the issues of the increasing incidents in the UK. It's not footballs job to address what is going on in the UK, however I feel it is footballs issue to stamp it out in grounds. People get lifetime bans, are they really enforced? Not really, people just go in under a different name, with the advances in technology including facial recognition and the money flying about at the higher levels of the game more should be done. Further to that if larger punishments could be handed out, if you are banned from grounds and found to have got yourself in do them for trespass and get these ****s prosecuted every time. Not all people are racist, but all racists are stupid ****s and holding back society by being stupid, ignorant ****s
Several ... but that's irrelevant ... but thanks for your contribution ... even predictable stereotypical ones welcome.
Idiots attack what they see as their target’s vulnerabilities, In the case of a black player that’s seen to be the colour of his skin. The idiot(s) who abused Rudiger yesterday were seeing their team losing and then blamed Son’s sending off on Rudiger’s overreaction rather than Son’s petulant stupidity. So, they wanted to vent their frustration on him. There are several black players on the Spurs team so I find it hard to think that these idiots can’t see the stupidity and hypocrisy of what they’re doing. But, they wanted to have a pop at Rudiger, he’s got black skin.......
Yeah I don't see how punishing clubs will help in this situation and don't think we should. As you say, as terrible as it is, it's not huge groups of people chanting but 1/2 idiots shouting a line of abuse. I'm not sure how clubs can prevent or be held responsible for 1 person shouting out some words (unless they don't act). These days in the PL 95% of home-end fans should be simple enough to identify and I think we just need to keep doing what's being done. Good that it's being highlighted more though as I think that can help with the education process. Football isn't going to have all the answers to something which ultimately, is a societal issue.
Some very good posts on this thread. In reference to NSIS post ...perhaps the most ironic consequence of what happened at the weekend is that a couple of (presumably passiinate) Spurs fans could be facing lifetime bans from home games not because they are intrinsically racist, but because they are dicks, possibly fuelled by a few bevvues as well. That said - clubs have to show zero tolerance towards 'racist behaviour' and have stressed this repeatedly ... so, ultimately, the dickheads only have themselves to blame.
