Blackburn and Birmingham away, Bolton at home. If we take 5 points from these I'll be happy, a couple of draws on the road and a win v Bolton. That'd give us 36 points meaning only 4 or 5 more points would see us achieve our initial aim of survival this season. With home games against Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham we could get another 7/9 points (there's bound to be one slip up in there with the way the seasons gone so far!). This being the case we'd be well into the 40's on points and these are conservative estimates - not getting carried away and saying we're going to win them all. Everton at home is another game where we can aim to win, at mimimun take a point. That means games v Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool etc will be taken with the view that 'any point is a bonus', much like prior to the Arsenal game on Saturday.
I feel we will take all three vs Blackburn this weekend. After their defeat this weekend, I feel their honeymoon period with a new manager is over, and after our comeback, feel we have the momentum to go on and win. However, I feel we will lose to Birmingham, but bounce back with a win vs Bolton. I expect a nice 6 point haul from those 3 games, which will put us on the brink of survival.
If we could win one of the Blackburn or Birmingham games then happy days all the way. Does anyone know if Santa Cruz will be back for Rovers? Think he was injured for their last match.
I'd expect a return of 9 points from the next 3 games. Anything else is simply slacking. We've let the top 4 go far enough ahead and now it's time to reel them back in. I am of course deadly serious.
13 games to go = 39 points. Add that to our current 31 = 70 points. That would have got us 4th spot depending on goal difference last year, not bad for our 1st season back
Blackburn 1- 2 Newcastle United Win Birmingham 1-1 Newcastle United Draw Newcastle United 3-1 Bolton Win TOON TOON
I think with the way the league has gone this year, we could get anything between 0 and 9 points (except for Beatski's 8)
Is Dowd in charge for any matches? 8 points is certainly feasible then according to some Arsenal fans... <whsitle>
I'm expecting 9 points and we should be getting 9 points as these are very winnable games. 6/9 is the minimum in my opinion. However you can't predict anything in this league and as we have been shown time and time again anything can happen.
The way this season is going, I wouldn't be shocked if we got no points from the next 3 games, but got to safety with wins at home to Man Utd and away to Chelsea and Liverpool. I predict its going to be unpredictable!
Blackburn 1-0 Newcastle Birmingham 1-2 Newcastle (Martins will score ) Newcastle 5-1 Bolton (revenge will be sweeet!)
