here you go sherlock, my initial reply to the shamima begum/corbyn post - querying what corbyn really said on the matter

not exactly consistent with your bizarre comment that I thought it was a real document. :emoticon-0148-yes:

It was give us a clue <laugh>... couldn't be arsed to quote the whole chain fella.

Point being xpbod posted a typical anti-corbyn image post someone had knocked up, designed to show Corbyn was a hypocrite and political chancer. Nothing wrong in that clearly. I was questioning whether corbyn had said anything of the sort re Shamima Begin... as you would hope that to demonstrate hypocrisy there might be a grain of truth in it somewhere. He replies with a throwaway line about not expecting truth on a plotics thread... and i say it so it was made up then. Apparently my use of the term made up (as in made up the comments on Begum) implied i had thought a png image someone had knocked up in 5 minutes using a handwriting font was a genuine historical document. bizarre.

I do enough stupid things every day of my life, for which i am happy to take a ribbing over... without someone needing to attribute their own doh moments onto me! Just a run of the mill minor internet tiff.

So remind me was the Falklands a war or a conflict and is it over yet?<cheers>

Yes you're starting to make WJs Falklands rants look interesting. BTW did you notice the mail on Sunday story confirming me being right last week about France, I'm sure WJ will have seen it but I've still not had an apology <whistle>

It appears, having looked back, we were both correct early on in the reply's as I said "I bet when you're down the pub with your mates you're the one they have to keep saying "only joking " to" and you replied "Ridiculous assertion......I don't have any friends" :D

    nah sorry!

I have read a bit on it in the past (didn't want to get in the way of one of yours and WJ's marathon 'I'm right' sessions). This was an interesting article... they helped us... and they helped them!

OK I watched it. I would raise concerns about some of the language but overall no issue. I have a few points though.

1 What has happened in the states is reversible, if necessary
2 If the UK people wanted to show the "elite" they are still around then that's great but a slap in the face resulting in withdrawal from your largest trade agreement seems disproportionate/inappropriate
3 If you imagine the people being interviewed to have Scottish accents and living in Sterling, Aberdeen or Kirkcudbrightshire then do you think the argument would still be valid?

Look, I've no interest in racking over the ashes of what, why or how you lot voted. It's done you have yourselves to congratulate just keep checking actions against promises.

People have been hearing that they're stupid or racist or far right because they cast a vote one way.
They've been told, in effect, that they don't know what's good for them.
They've been told that democracy is wasted on them.
Scotland is in the UK, in fact we renewed our wedding vows in 2014. You might as well say London wants to remain, it's the same thing.
How are you still so sure it's going to be a disaster? Don't judge it on the last 3.5 years. We had our hands firmly tied behind our backs. We have a great negotiating position now, the pound is up as are the markets. Even 2020 is happy :)
Boris is putting in to law that we leave at the end of 2020 (pardon the pun) so, let's get Brexit done!
I heard an Aussie Senator saying that he hopes Britain will interact more with the Commonwealth now.

You have taken my comments wrong, your vote, your country go for it. I suspect there are those in Scotland though that will use the same argument as have been used by those in the UK wanting to leave the EU to leave the Union. OK you renewed your vows in 2014 but that was before you withdrew conjugal rights.

We are already in negotiations with the EU for a free trade deal, as it is our second largest trading partner after China and also as it is the source of our largest foreign investment. You will probably have to comply with EU regulations to access our market by the time your trade deal is negotiated, so that everybody is on an even playing field and meet the necessary high standards that we expect. We export far more to the UK than we import so a free trade deal would do very nicely.

Scottish independence is little Jimmy Krankie's baby. She's never got over losing the vote so heavily in 2016. That was a vote to remain in the union, warts and all.
She has admitted that not everyone who voted SNP wants independence but she's still calling it a mandate.
Scexit would make Brexit look like a breeze.

We are already aligned with EU regulations. The key difference would be that only those companies doing business in Australia need to meet the criteria, we wouldn't have free movement, you wouldn't tell us who we could or couldn't trade with, there won't be a Aus-UK Parliament and the Aus High Court won't have jurisdiction.
The EU also export way more to us than they import.
Hopefully we'll get kicked out of the Eurovision Song Contest :)

We have your Queen !!!!! i.e any law we pass officially has to have her seal of approval. Not that I've got anything against her, she is a very gracious lady, I just can't see why we have to have a foreign monarch as our head of state.

PS We are in the Eurovision song contest. Lets hope you get kicked out of all the European football competitions and Euro 2020 gets moved to a proper European country like... France or Germany:1980_boogie_down:
