A 10% stake sold for £7.5m? This lot don't have the cash. Not popular to say but there's worse owners out there.
Hard to see past this. Bordeaux made £50m profit in the two years GACP were involved. Puts Ashley to shame. Honestly, I don't think today's Mike Ashley is the worst we could get. But it all depends on where new owners see profit coming from. The basic question is this - do the commercial benefits of a new owner outweigh the amount of money they would take? Mike has hampered us, commercially, and still today pays "going rate" - i.e. he;s not being creative with selling sponsorship, and there's no real money available for infrastructure. If we have new investors, they will most likely invest all over the club, but at what cost? Someone like GACP is just going to redirect funds from the first team to the training and youth. And I'm not sure there's any more Saudi princes interested.
On the contrary. One of the Middle East Co’s we work with said that’s why they have sold 1.3% of Saudi Aramco for $25.6billion. Thats 350million for Ashley, 2billion for players, 2billion for a new training complex and the rest on the toilets.
After the trouncing Corbyn got from Boris I'm prepared to believe in ****ing fairies!! Bring it on #itshappeningagain
I assume the only way this would happen I that this group are backed by other far richer Americans … the games taking off over there , so it's only a matter of time before they start getting involved.
If they've sold their share in Bordeaux, perhaps they'll re-import Claret Açuna once they've bought us.
New owners indeed. Even when the club DO splash the cash on a signing (Joelinton) they get it wrong. So it's not just new owners the club need, it's new Scouts!
this guy is as frugal as Ashley , but at least he has a vision and a plan on how we can compete over time rather than being run like a shop.
