For **** sake they will wreck the BBC. What will it be next? Burning books?

I have started hiding my books by radical left wing thinkers. All of Dickens books will be top of his list to be burned so they too have been hidden. My copies of all of E P Thompson's books have been hidden as has Engel's the Condition of the Working Class in England just owning a copy might be enough to see you locked up soon. Max Hastings' books will also be banned. I don't want my neighbours to know I have them as some quisling will surely tell the thought police.

God at first I was trying to be funny but this is ****ing serious stuff.

I hope that he isnt as bad as that.

But I look at how selfish he has been throughout his career, and have to wonder what his plans are.

He has come out quite quickly.and said he will invest in the north and the NHS, which is good. If we can believe him.

 

I think, like a lot of narcissists, he desperately wants to be loved. Hence handing out the largesse.

I suspect that it'll increase, if anything. There will be nods toward the centre, but the casual racism is the point. The voting pattern in this election looks awfully like that which has reordered American politics: older, white working-class voters, particularly those in post-industrial regions, shifting rightward. The political left skewing toward cities, the educated, and younger voters. The old ordering principles are breaking down, and what emerges in their place will be nastier by half.

 

Andy McDonald on Today attacking the BBC for bias against Corbyn. I'm in two minds really. They did report him negatively but then he was totally useless as well. And let's not forget that had Corbyn unconditionally backed Remain at the referendum we would not be where we are today. Many voters recognised the subtext of his lukewarm support for the EU.

 

He wasn’t totally useless but I entirely agree about the Remain stance. More honesty from Labour about what the EU actually means to us would have led more Labour voters to vote that way, which would have been decisive. Starmer did his best but was largely ignored by the media.
