Clearly being lined up for a coaching role. I can see as his playing role declines, he'll be asked to take on more coaching. Wealth of knowledge, seems fairly smart (for a footballer), level headed and calm, think he'll go further and go into management.
Absolutely delighted. This is how football should be, managers, players and fans who all love the club and are pulling in the same direction. Group hug
Milner is an exemplary professional sportsman and in a lot of ways the heart and soul of our squad, he plays selflessly for the good of the team whenever asked in whichever position asked, he always has an impeccable attitude about that and comes at it positively, and he gives as much as he can on the pitch knowing what he is, but what he is isn't such a big deal, who he is in character is more important ... and he does all that towards the end of his career with an enthusiasm and energy that many players a decade younger than him can't equal or often be bothered with. Top news about Klopp ... long may he reign
Actually made up about Milner too. His personality seems so well suited to the squad, he's not a prima-dona egotistical nob, he's a mature, calm and down to earth role model for the any player at the club. Like many of our senior players actually.
Young, energetic and talented players provide the impetus of the squad, but it's crucial to have those older, experienced players to balance them and keep their feet on the ground. Even though Milner might not play so much over the next few years, his influence and importance shouldn't be underestimated.
