I mean what the hell just happened? **** me its been a **** couple of days results wise.

Remember Scunthorpe 4 - 1 defeat in the yesr we won the championship.....

 

That was absolute ****ing shiiiiite.


Total arrogance IMO in the tactics and desperation to play out from the back. Outfought for the entire game by a **** but determined team. Deserved what we got but could comfortably have scored a couple more.

We lacked desire for long periods in the game and every time Barnsley moved the ball forwards quickly we looked panicked
On to Charlton next week....another team on a shocking run ....away win?

 

Charlton fan at work reckons they’re absolute ****e and sinking like a stone but again the other night they looked totally devoid of quality but up for it. Warbsy will sort them out for next week.

 

You need to stop goin* to a2Y games mate. How the @@@@ did we lose like that to the bottom team?

 

Careful or people might mistake us for Massive or Villa fans who think they're too good for this division...

What did I miss? Third clean sheet in a row? It was only Barnsley, right?

 

How the **** did Barnsley score 5, the loss is not the problem if it was 2-1 but letting in 5 against bottom of the league is unacceptable. When did Barnsley get 5 before, have they scored 5 in a month before absolutely not acceptable

Yes. WHY change a winning formula? WHY do managers tinker?

I suppose that is that kid's first hat-trick and was a first goal ever from of their other players. Enough! Sort it out MW.

I'll get this in early. On 9.1.20 when we lose to Brentford (again) I want to see our players breathing fire and leaving blood on the field of battle. NO ABJECT CAPITULATION!

 

Reading this board from afar, I've often felt that Manning is a tad over rated on here.
He has a nice left foot, but gets his delivery wrong a lot. He gives the ball away too much and is slow, with no positional sense.
Mind you, Kane makes him look like Ashley Cole at his peak in comparison .

 

He’s a revelation going forwards compared to Bidwell and I think we missed him defensively yesterday against a decent winger given Wallace was ****ing woeful. His positioning isn’t always the best but he’s getting better all the time.

The problem for me wasn’t so much that he and Wallace didn’t work well together. It was more that there was no protection for the full-backs at all in that mental diamond experiment. Barnsley had very little through the middle first half but acres of space out wide.

Kane was just terrible at everything yesterday.

 

I've also felt Manning is a bit over rated, but until the last 2 or 3 games, think he was improving. He has crossed and tackled well but isn't quick or position wise enough to get back when he needs to. He doesn't seem to communicate well with Wallace. Kane has the speed, but his passing yesterday was appalling which was a huge problem when we passed to him frequently from the back, and his defending has been very up and down - good some games but some non-existent. Hope Rangel is fit again for Charlton.
