On Friday this week, it will be GC's 1 year anniversary of being our gaffer.

Here are his stats... from 13th December 2018 to 12th December 2019.

    League games:
    Played: 43
    Won: 18
    Drew: 14
    Lost: 11
Scored: 57 (19 of these goals scored by JCH)
    Conceded: 49
    Points: 68*
    Win %: 41.9%

    Cup games:
    Played: 12
    Won: 7
    Drew: 3
    Lost: 2
    Win %: 58.3%

    * 68 pts from 43 games is play off form. Last 5 seasons, 6th place after 46 games had the following pts...
    18/19: 73 pts
    17/18: 71 pts
    16/17: 73 pts
    15/16: 74 pts
    14/15: 69 pts

It's very difficult to argue with these stats. I'm not his biggest fan but I have to say fair shout to him. Football is mainly not pretty but it obviously gets the job done.

I think he has brought consistency passion and effort to the team, the football is not always pretty but we are picking up points home and away. I said from the outset that I thought that he was a good choice and I was a DC fan, he gets a lot of stick from some around where I stand which I don't think he deserves. I would really like to see the board or a new backer get behind GC in the next transfer window to see if we can kick on, even if we don't get promoted this year I believe it will sell more season tickets for the coming season.Well done Graham for all that the coaching team have achieved with quite a number of major players for us being out injured and the young players when they are played putting in performances that must give him food for thought

I just been looking closely at our league table. I knew we were 5th but I didn't realise how close we were to the teams above us.

Big game on Saturday for us. Away at 2nd place Ipswich and we are just 5 points behind them.

We are also just 1 point behind both 3rd place Peterborough and 4th place Blackpool. We have a game in hand on them both too. So if we win our game in hand (vs Sunderland at home - date unknown) then we would effectively be 3rd place ourselves.

If we can beat Ipswich this weekend, then we surely our board MUST back GC in January to strengthen because how long has it been when we've been this close to the top of L1????? And we must do everything to keep JCH. Even if it means reject silly money for him.

In all honesty I think the team finds itself in a position that belies the abilities that they posess as we have clearly seen in recent performances against Bromley, Muff and The O's. That being said we have probably scraped together enough points now to avoid the dreaded drop this year but anything above a mid table finish would flatter us immensely with the current squad of players that we have.

After today's win maybe we ought to believe a little more in the team. Good to see Tom Nicholls get what turned out to be the winning goal today

Isn't it ironic, don't you think....

Coughlan has left Bristol Rovers. Heading off to Mansfield. Dropping to League Two.

According to an article by radio Bristol Rovers have turned down an approach by Mansfield for GC. in his after match interview he said that he had decisions to make on his future but he wouldn't elaborate if they were work or personal
There are several entries on Bristol live TW that he is leaving and he states he doesn't know how far he can take the Rovers. NOW IS THE TIME FOR THE BOARD TO SHOW SOME AMBITION AND PERSUADE HIM TO STAY WITH GENUINE OFFERS OF CASH FOR SIGNINGS IN THE NEXT TRANSFER WINDOW

They won't though old timer. History tells us so.

Remember DC publicly called for funds to bring in 2/3 experienced players this same time last season. Did he get it? No. In fact he was let go and we then went cheap with replacing him with GC. Now GC is saying the same stuff that DC said, he needs funds to bring in another 2/3 experienced players. The difference is DC needed funds to save us from relegation. GC wants funds to keep us a top 6 club come the end of the season and a chance of the next level.

So ask yourself why has GC gone public like DC. He would have had a meeting this past week with the board to discuss funds for January. He obviously wasn't happy with the outcome. GC is basically calling out the boards lack of ambition, saying he may have taken the club as far as it can go.

Just before DC was let go, he made the point that after selling Taylor, Harrison and Bodin, he was not given the funds he needed to replace those goals and as a result we were struggling in a relegation battle. I honestly believe GC has been told we are selling JCH in January and there will be no funds to replace his goals and remember, JCH has scored a third of all league goals that has been scored under GC. If JCH goes then say goodbye to top 6 and we will just drop down the table. GC will get abuse from the fans and does he really want that?

He has timed this brilliantly as well after just beating 2nd place Ipswich, showing the board that we have a real chance this season of being top 6 or even better, if he can keep JCH and get the funds he wants to improve the squad further. I honestly feel the "family" line is just rubbish. His family has been up North the whole time yet he has been at Plymouth, Southend and with us. Why claim homesickness now, immediately after that win yesterday? In my opinion, he is just using the family line as a reasonable excuse to show the board that he is prepared to walk away if he doesn't get the funds he wants. Then add Mansfield into the equation. A club up North and has approached Rovers to speak to GC. The good news is that Rovers have refused this. In doing so, does this mean they will now back GC with funds in January?

Either way, the players now know GC is not happy and publicly said he may have taken the club as far as he could. How will the players feel about this? Will the team morale now be hit?

I get the impression that he might have stayed if given more funds, but as that did not happen he decided that he needed to be near his family? So it's kind of a bit of both??

To be honest, let him go. If he wants to drop from a promotion race to the championship to a L2 relegation battle then let him. Hope Mansfield go down. Sounds bitter and maybe I am being bitter but his decision stinks and has fooked us over. Why now and not back in the summer? Why now and not at the end of this season? Surely his family could wait for 5 more months seeing he has been away for a decade already. He could have a promotion on his CV. We now see his real character in my opinion. If its a case of low funds, well he has managed to get us to 4th with a game in hand on the funds that he is not happy with. Leaving now just screams of no ambition. Should see the season out but his excuses don't wash with me. Basically he has shafted us so goodbye GC, hopefully you get relegated to non league. Close the door on your way out <ok>

Im sure some or most will not agree with me and think I am being harsh. I apologise for that but thats how I feel <ok>
