If I lived in the NE I'd do exactly that mate. But, as I do with my family, I keep in touch through forums etc. I've not lived in the NE since I was around 8/9 years old so would miss the info, craic, etc. Sadly, forums and social media is like panning for gold ... ... a lot of shale to sift through to find a few nuggets!
13 years here - you’re right @Smug in Boots, sometimes the only way to get a clue of the goings on back home.
Watching Look North is like relying on Russian TV for an unbiased opinion. They were claiming Newcastle 'held their own' in the first half and 'had their moments' ... ... they didn't have a single shot on target and barely crossed the half way line
Same here mate, 22 years away. Still miss home but work opportunities were the driving force and remain so. It would be a long week in terms of football if we didn't have these forums to keep in touch.
We left the NE in 1998 and I kept my ST until we moved to France in 2004 and haven't had one since. Joined the old BBC site back in 2011 and this one has been a proper lifeline for all things SAFC. Love the banter and info lads chuck up on here and it's my go to link on match days with grateful thanks to RTB, Clocky etc. Can't believe it's been 10 years, time just flies by, so my thanks to one and all for keeping us exiles in the loop.
