Comparing Abbott with Javid or Corbyn with Johnson or even Labour with the Cons means nothing to me. I've already said this is about Corbyn and his two chums and if they are fit to govern. We know all about the Conservatives already.

But that’s a completely meaningless statement, today of all days. Like it or not, we have to choose between them.

You are clearly above entering into a meaningful discussion concerning the political issues of today and feel more at home insulting individuals.

Continuing to throw insults and accusations at Jeremy Corbyn is a very old trick that has been going on for 30 years or so, and he is still there. You are wasting your time, but carry on trashing people if it makes you feel better. That ship sailed years ago.

You just come over as a mean spirited, spiteful and rather sad person who has just discovered the power trip you can have with a keyboard.

It seems that there are people who care and people that actually enjoy inflicting pain on those that care. It's like a sport

He’s a really decent bloke actually.

You’ve just told a bloke that he clearly doesn’t want to enter into a conversation, who he himself was told only yesterday by St Jabb that he’d have to work out for himself the answer to a question.

This is one reason why this thread should never have been allowed. He doesn’t like Corbyn and he gives him some stick on here. He’s allowed.

Chilcs and others have battered Johnson (who I loathe). if for some reason somebody likes somebody or dislikes somebody else, then they are entitled to post how they wish on it. Somebody might still want him to win even if he does seem to be a liar. Their choice.

The last few days have shown bullying from
Corbyn supporters towards someone who doesn’t like him.

It’s always been a bit too much of a “club” on this thread, but it’s getting worse and worse.

I vote we close the thread.

No, we don't have to choose between them. I've already said I won't be voting today as I believe it is my democratic right to opt out or spoil my paper or anything else that I am entitled to do. The choice I have made is because from my perspective, there is absolutely no-one standing that I think is fit to be prime minister.
I can't stand the Consevatives, but by your reckoning, I should vote for someone I detest just to keep them out. It's just not going to happen.
Until recently I didn't want to post here but I read the thread every day. There have been many comments about how people who don't like Corbyn are taken in by the right wing press and therefore can't think for themselves or worse. Eventually I'd seen enough and decided to give an alternative veiwpoint that in all honesty is not often seen here and never tolerated.

it doesn’t help by making uncompromising comments either. Come on folks let’s take some steps back and stop all the innuendoes and personal comments.

This thread has always been a bit of a free domain for bullying and being abusive. But I guess that's what politics is all about.

Fair enough. I absolutely defend your right to choose not to vote, as long as you accept I also have a right to express my views.

The way I see it is that it isn't necessarily about Boris v Jeremy.

For the first time in years I feel we have a hard right and a hard left. Over the last 20 odd years, we have had just right of centre and just left of centre. This is why the two characters are so polarising.

I know they are the leaders, but I think this is about which is better for the country, leaders come and go, the parties remain.

I personally do not like Boris, but am also not 100% sure on Jeremy. However, I feel the lesser of two evils is the left and the Labour party and who knows, maybe it will come back in fashion to care about your neighbour and the future generation.

You can leave the decision to other voters to make for you but we do need to choose between them.
One of them will be in power.

In a way you can consider not voting as just giving half your vote to both of them.

Sorry folks i have decided to close this thread for the time being to let people calm down. There is too much name calling and ganging up on people and bullying. This is not going to suite you all but it is my decision alone. When I get some assurances that this type of behaviour will cease I will reopen it.

Right this Forum is going to be reopened. Please remember to keep your discussions and disagreements friendly. If I have to take this type of drastic action again I will close the politics thread and any other that come embroiled in anything other than they are meant to.
