I have voted. If you have not done so, go an express your preference for government today.

My daughter in New Zealand just put a post on Instagram saying "If I can vote in this election from New Zealand, there's no excuse for not voting in the UK"

I think that there might be a few surprises coming up, as the young voters seem to be out in numbers and I can't see there being a large percentage that are going to vote Conservative

Over 3 million new voters registered since the election was called, most of them under 35.

sent my postal vote on the 2nd. It's not going to arrive today because the Serbian postal workers are on strike. Bloody socialists demanding more pay. They already get 237 pounds a month! and a health service where you have to bring your own toilet paper if you're submitted. Want to see a Health Service after 20 years of no funding - come to Serbia!

Poll predictions have not taken enough account of the large numbers that will vote against the government - I'm still hopeful....

I am resigned to a tory big majority, anything else will be an amazing surprise.

But I do believe change is coming. More and more people are seeing through the lies.

Voted for Labour this morning. Not much hope of change here in Warsash, but you never know.

Even if the Tory majority is reduced here it will be a moral victory.

My girl is in a youth hostel in NZ with 7 other young English people - they have ALL voted Labour in their respective constituencies.

Any chance you could persuade them to convince Jacinda Ardern to come over here and run this ****-show of a country?

Have to be honest . For the last 3 elections I have voted tactically . My Tory MP Is Chrisopher Chope . This time however all though I know it is a wasted vote in some ways , I decided to vote Labour .

I am certain the Tories will get a majority , hope I am proved wrong , but just felt I had to vote for the PARTY with Ideals I care about .

I actually feel better for it .

I’ve voted here ‘in’ Fareham. I hope the horrendous weather today doesn’t stop anyone getting out there and voting.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve been forced to take more note of political ongoings. Not because I want to, I find the whole operation thoroughly depressing, but because I feel I need to (and a lot of my friends and acquaintances in their 20s and early 30s feel the same). The bare minimum that we should all demand from our politicians is the truth. The fact that we don’t get that is despicable, the fact that hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people are voting based on these lies is thoroughly depressing. The fact that even our neutral ‘trusted’ media isn’t neutral is a disgrace. I’m not going to pretend I know a lot about politics, but I think I’ve done enough reading and listening to know enough about which party cares about the same things I do.
I’m voting for the planet, the world we live on and the environment.
I’m voting for the people in our country, especially the ones that are disadvantaged from the very start, the ones that need help and who suffer the most.
I’m voting for social care and I’m voting for the NHS, which even in its underfunded, overstretched state is still one of the best things about our country.
I’m not voting to ‘get Brexit done’, I’m voting for another chance to remain in Europe where people are given a real choice and know better what they are voting for than the farce of the original Brexit vote. I want to remain in the EU.
I’m trusting the experts in economics who have declared which parties manifesto is best for this country.

If I was in an area where tactical voting could make a difference I would tactically vote. This country needs change and it needs it now. This is my first, and probably last post on this thread. Every vote counts. I support Saints, and every vote I’ve ever been apart of I’ve lost, so I should be well used to being on the losing side by now. But hey, there’s still a fools hope.

What was wrong with IOAGs post that was deleted? Just to help others know where the line is.

Can you guys recommend a decent post-election channel on the TV. I don't think I can take any more of Kuenssberg chipping in with pointless biased comments.

What I would give to see the smirk wiped off the faces of some senior Tory faces tonight. Maybe there isn't much chance of that but even a close run election, with a politician equipped with a functioning brain such as Nicola Sturgeon holding the trump cards would send my little world into an orbit of pure delight.

The weather favours the young, determined and brave getting out to the polling stations. Hoping for a result that favours the young, determined and brave of heart.
