Thats why liked it I am probably the oldest on hear, but you are only as old as you feel, I am still 35 except when I try and do things that I could do when I was 35
That still happens today on the walk to the station always empty of course, no point wasting good beer
Football was better in many ways in those days, people supported their local teams and players had a connection with the fans The grounds were crap, the pitches were unplayable and the football compared to today was dire, but we enjoyed it more
Even in the lower leagues? I like it. More diehard, more English players and managers. The prem maybe.
Watford 3 Leicester 1 2013 play off semi-final with that goal by Deeney The following season the powers that be showed that goal before our game with Leicester and all Watford supporters looked at each other and said "that's their prematch team tat sorted" We lost 3-0 and nosedived and Leicester won promotion
0 - 5 at Woodison in 82 with Rushie scoring 4 was fun, and I've been to three European Cup finals. However, the most incredible experience I've ever had as a Liverpool supporter was at Anfield in the quarter final second leg of the European Cup against St Etienne in 77. I've never heard a volume generated like that anywhere before or since. It was louder than a Saturn 5 rocket launching. Quite ****ing incredible and absolutely unforgettable
Scraping a 1-0 win against nine man Chelsea with JT racially abusing Anton Ferdinand and every Chelsea fan windmilling afterwards insisting he said “blind ****” was a good one. I have a habit of missing our rare memorable games like coming from behind to beat Pool 3-2, a 4-4 draw at Port Vale from being 4 down etc.
Best game for me was December 1997 at the old White Hart Lane. Score was Tottenham 1-6 Chelsea 1-1 at half time, second half was some of the best I have ever seen Chelsea play
Best game, that's impossible to answer. So many. But they will all be away day. Forest, W Ham, Derby, Milwall, Mags.etc It's usually about the whole day not the match.
Watched Huddersfield v Southampton in 2011 I think That was memorable because that’s the day I realised you just need luck to be a footballer I think
Was there for Newcastle beating Juve 1-0, memorable for Andy Griffin scoring past Buffon. Wasn't there but I remember recording us beating Barca 3-2 in 98 as a kid. Watched that endlessly whilst we drifted into obscurity.
