I genuinely believe that all the kids need is experience. None of them are bad and those that were on loan walked into the respective first teams. Time, faith and confidence is all they need and unfortunately they won’t get that until they’ve completed the season.

Fair appraisal. Tammy led the line brilliantly yet again. He exceeded expectations yet again last night, always up for getting in dangerous positions and his link up play with Pulisic is really coming on.

Hopefully we have found a real leader up front after that pansy Morata.

Hopefully we can build a Rudi-Tomori CB pairing soon.

Well I cannot speak for the Singaporean press <laugh> but in the UK the media and pundits have been surprisingly level headed when it comes to talking about Chelsea this season, I have found.
Complimenting how great the youngsters are looking, and that Frank is doing a good job as a rookie manager with a team of kids, but not playing up our chances.
They have been rightfully critical of our defending at times, which is more than fair, as it has, at times, been laughable, but they have also acknowledged and respect the fact that Frank was unable to sign any players.
I have noticed any boots laid in yet, other than constructive and rightful criticism of our poor defending.

Exactly, I don't know where C Pensioner gets his: "The British media have been all over Chelsea, talking up our success, and now putting the boot in because we're in a bit of a slump. Most people would call that hype."

The only person I have seen getting overhyped about the youngsters and then putting the boot in, is Chelsea Pensioner!!!

I honestly couldn't be more thrilled, I doubted Tammy had the nous to be a premier striker at the start of the season and Pulisic was just bought for the USA shirt buying market but I'm chuffed to bits to be proven wrong. We make terrible mistakes at times but we have a largely young and inexperienced team but it's to be expected in my book. Just imagine what this squad could be in two/three seasons?

My thoughts were identical. But, like you, I've been proved very wrong. (Although Pulisic will make us a fortune in USA market, his close control, body swerves and dribbling are brilliant... the American Charlie Cook

A couple of times last night his swerves were very Hazardesque.

Am in exactly the same boat mate.
I was confident that Mount could cut it, having watched him boss the championship with Derby last season, I had a strong feeling he would step up and be a big part of our squad.
Tammy though, I had so many doubts about! Being a premier league striker is (quite literally) a different league than the championship, the defences are much more organised and talented in the PL and I have to say, Tammy has really shocked me, in a good way. I went in to this season thinking that if he got 10-15 goals in all comps this season I would be happy, he has hit that mark already, and we aint even quite halfway through the season yet!!

Pulisic I knew he was a talent from the few times I had seen him play, but I am shocked at the speed at which he has adapted to the PL, especially since he wasn't getting played for the first half a dozen games or so, he has hit the ground running, so to speak, which is great.

The issue is for sure the defence, which I feel, more than anything, is where experience helps you. It needs looking at.

Yeah, can't agree more mate. Whereas they are all good individually we need a partnership, would quite like to see Ruddier and Timori pairing as they're both fast and confident but I think we need one more CB to keep them on their toes.

    Yes, agree, agree, agree,

I thought Mount would come through.

Even if Tammy only scores five more Prem goals after Xmas, 15 would be brilliant in his first Prem season.

And I also thought Pulisic was low on confidence, especially having been dropped/played out of position/deemed surplus to requirements for Dortmund.

He hit the ground running very quickly.

Let's get the defence built around Rudi and Tomori, and we have a good chance of top 4. It will be tough though with Pool Liecester and City nailed on.

Us v Spurs and possibly United

Thats a total load of bollocks CFC, you say you've never seen any media hype of our team, nor media criticism of our loss of form ?? Apparently not in the media you watch and read. No Sky, Red tops or popular media for you. Nor apparently, the more than 130 international media publications available to those who take the effort to be properly informed.
Now you sarcastically accuse me of being the "only person overhyping" the team you said has never been hyped, and "putting the boot into them" for what reason ???????

There is no one on this board who has been a bigger supporter of our youngsters, for years mate, not months, than me. I took **** loads of grief on this board for ages for saying so too, "no one ever wins anything with kids you idiot"" being the most repeated putdown from the experts. Check out the history.

Now the kids I championed for years are finally being allowed to do the business, any criticism of their progress, is turned by you into "CP is the only one............... "
If I really am the only one......... then I'm sticking with my opinion .

I haven't seen one post about you championing Tomori or Reece James. I doubt you even knew who they were until this season.
    Or Mount or Tammy tbf.

On a brief scan of your recent posts:

I've seen you creating multiple threads about Hudson-Odoi out for a while, saying sell him to Bayern

    https://www.not606.com/threads/its-getting-close-to-early-days-not-being-valid.378703/

But also saying Pulisic is crap, why did we buy him when we have CHO
    https://www.not606.com/threads/pulisic-looks-pretty-ordinary.371869/

I've also seen your threads saying time to drop Tammy for Batman <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
    https://www.not606.com/threads/time-to-give-batman-a-go.378155/

Last season you championed Ampadu, Christensen, RLC a lot, but never any of the kids succeeding now (apart from CHO for a week)

CP has to pick his game up not to become the next Stan. Yes even though we have a largely inexperienced squad who can disappoint at times. Forget the West Ham’s and other games.we are going up.

Season has surpassed all expectations, reaching last 16 of CL is a big bonus.

Reece James has come back brilliantly from his broken ankle, CHO is back fully fit.

Mason and Tammy have been superb. Tomori looks fantastic potentially.

Only disappointments have been our poor management of Rudi and N'golo's injuries: we need them fit and playing regularly to get top 4.

As for the kids CP 'championed': RLC is great but I fear will always be a sick note :(
Ampadu is not getting game time at Leipzig
Christensen can't get back to his pre-Barcelona CL tie form, I hope he does though

I wouldnt say reece james has been brilliant. Certainly surprised me by how good he is. Good going forward and strong and great defensively. My criticisms include some sketchy crossing and for how big and ppwerful he is, he seems to get bossed in the air for me (most notably i don't think any of our defenders won any header against everton).

Still though I'm more than happy with him and am glad he has replaced dave.

Mason ive been pleasantly surprised. He flutters in and out of games and hes a bit weak but hes intelligent and is great on the half turn. Shoots a lot and i can only see him improving on this like lampard. Hopefully he will bulk out a bit.

Tammy has led the line well and im looking forward to tomori playing more.

Pulisic has looked excellent although could be more clinical and ive been championing kovacic for a while and its great that hes showing his skills.

Its a tough job for lampard to keep all our players happy and play the correct formation in each game

Unfortunately rlc is always injured. He was amazing last year. I'm hoping because this was a different injury to usual that he will recover

Kovacic, player of the year so far, by a mile. Staggered at his improvement since Sarri left.

I like his crossing and hope it will be the source of many goals for us in the next decade.
    Agree with everything else
