Scarfgate was a big error after the fallout from flaskgate.

There was precedent, it wasn’t a wise thing to do.

He was getting a lot of pelters from a guy on Twitter who calls himself the Lemon Kid, so he might have decided to lay low for a while.

    I know David, he's a good bloke, I don't know Debbie.

The scarf was a bad move, as I told Geoff the morning after he handed it over, he obviously regrets it now.

The Trust is an independent supporters group and should 100% be in charge of deciding who their chairman is, they shouldn't be forced to get rid of him just because it's what Ehab wants. Geoff's also a very good chairman, other than the scarf cock-up, he's done very well and represents the Trust on national bodies and is very well respected among other Trusts. The problem is how the Trust retains members and stay relevant when the club won't talk to them, I really don't envy them.

That pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. I would add that the club's recent volte-face with regards to the fans doesn't mean that the Trust should let its guard down. Assem Allam's recent interview showed that there are still feelings festering within the family. His words made it clear that they need the fans now. What happens if they don't need us again in the next couple of years? I welcome the club's recent moves to engage better with the fans, and I am happy to see how many decent people we have in the backroom, but I think making such a big move in favour of what the Allams want based on little more than a few months of warmer relations would be a mistake, and would affect the integrity of the Trust.

With regards to numbers, I think there was an inevitability that numbers would drop off after the initial surge when feelings were so high, and I'm not sure the club not talking to them is a major factor in that.

As far as I am concerned, I will continue to boycott until the Allams engage with the Trust. Almost all my other concerns about their appalling ownership have been (sort of) addressed.

Just rejoined, the scarf episode was a mistake but in my opinion, on the whole, they are doing a good job and worth supporting. The Allam's from memory at first took it as a joke only a bit later jumped on it as an excuse to alienate the trust as they were not towing their party line.

I have just joined for three years. A couple of years ago I joined the southern supporters following a post on here, I have been pleased with what they do for their members. Hopefully the supporters trust can carry on with the good work for years to come.

    HCST Statement

As has been his intention for some time Geoff Bielby has today announced he has stepped down as Chairman of Hull City Supporters Trust (HCST) with effect from today, 20th August.

Geoff was appointed to the role of Chairman in March 2016 and had originally intended to serve in that role for three years. At the Board Meeting in June following the AGM, Geoff agreed to stay on as Chairman as a temporary measure until the uncertainty around the club’s position was resolved.

The decision to step down now is prompted by the recent call for a unified supporter base by HCST earlier this month with our Amber Ribbon campaign, mirrored by a call for Unity by the Vice Chairman of the Club recently.

Geoff has advised the Club earlier this week of his intentions which followed personal correspondence with the owners in November and December last year. He has now called on the Club to again meet HCST formally.

HCST is the only membership group fully affiliated to the Football Supporters Association and as such can continue to represent supporters in an informed and professional way adding value to Club /Supporter dialogue. This is needed more than ever as Clubs prepare for the safe return of fans following games behind closed doors.

Geoff will remain as a HCST Director until the 2021 AGM when he is due to seek re-election. Geoff will also remain on the FSA National Council until their next AGM which has been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Graham Cannon will take the role of Interim Chairman with immediate effect until that appointment is ratified by the full Board of Directors at the next Board meeting.
