We haven't done it yet, and I don't want to jinx it, but... if we go on to have a great season, get that Prem monkey off our back and establish ourselves as contenders for every trophy, domestic and European, the turning point was - when Sadio Mane knocked United back to play for us, or more importantly Klopp. Yes, people are right to point to the inevitability of having to bite the bullet and buy Van Djik, and the emergence of Robbo and Trent (Scouser born and bred, and future captain), the erratic genius of Mo and the Lennonesque rhythm guitar of Bobby; but Mane... he was the fabled piece of the jigsaw that allowed us to turn the corner, go on a run and make next year this year. And he has the same hairline as me.
That goal was on a par with the Suarez one when it was coming over his head, he controlled it on his shoulder and just hit it. I watched it about 8 times when I got home last night and still don't know how it went in
even my Mrs went "how in Gods name did he do that " where as i was too busy laughing considering all the better chances he had missed .
It could easily have been 0 - 7, but it was worth it for that goal alone. You won't see better in this or many other seasons. And he knew exactly what he was doing
I love how players have really stepped up. I think Hendo has had a 2.5 games, Keita is adding a much needed New dimension to our midfield, Salah looks back at it. I’m not Lovren’s biggest fan but I think it was very risky to be starting him again after the weekend. Hopefully we now get to see Gomez get a run at CB - two clean sheets so far
The second half was brilliant. Really controlled the game and we should have scored more. its encouraging to see the team playing better football - creating more chances and conceding less.
I see Liverpool John Lennon was closed after Mike Gordon's private jet skidded off the runway on landing today
