It's just rumours made up so people can feel self-important. I can't remember Chelsea ever recalling a loanee, they won't make an exception for Gallagher.
Conor Gallagher has a recall option in January but it is doubtful that Chelsea will recall him. I think he will stay for the whole Season.
Lee Bowyer says we should have 2/3 players back for Middlesbrough away, and that’s looking like a massive game now, especially with them struggling badly as well. Sheff Wed on Saturday looks daunting- the midfield will be Lapslie, Morgan, Pratley .
If Lapslie is even fit... Morgan had his poorest game for us yesterday but he is 19. He still managed to knock some great passes though
Three teams could climb above us in the table this evening; Blackburn Rovers ... if they beat Brentford at Ewood Park Birmingham City ... if they win or draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough Hull Ciy ... if they win or draw against Preston North End at the KCOM stadium Charlton are currently 14th. If results go against us we could end the evening in 17th place - albeit still 5 points above Reading who are 18th.
All of a sudden 52 points and safety is looking a daunting target. 9 points from our last 14 league games (?) is guaranteed relegation form. The only caveat is that IMO we have 5 Championship- standard players - Lockyer, Cullen, Gallagher, Williams and Taylor...and 4 of those were effectively missing from yesterday’s shambles. Some of the Steady Eddies from the last season and the squad players, have been found out at this level. Purrington had a horror show yesterday at left back, and Matthews was very poor at right back as well against a kid. Mikeys Dad spoke to Jackson on the train home, who admitted we had been p1ss poor in his words. The only thing that irks me, apart from losing, is signing unfit players who look unfit and play as if they are unfit. Ledley is guaranteed to break down and get injured soon ...what is the point. And why are Aneke and Oztumer injured AGAIN ?
Injuries or not, we need to find a way to win at least one of the two home games this week. We are not the same without Josh Cullen.
Cullen couldn't have picked a worse time to get injured. Let's hope Bowyer can persuade the new owners to get him permanently.
That's now nine league games without a win for Charlton Athletic. Charlton's worst league run since November 2015 to January 2016 under the stewardship of Karel Fraeye. #cafc
A winning/losing run, both are very difficult to get out of. A long winter but if we stay up, by whatever means, it will be considered a successful season. Fans hoping for new signings must also realise that however good they may be, to come into a side who are not playing well it is not automatic they will turn things around.
