This needs more than just an entry on our RIP thread Jim Smith...our last cup final. He took us there. We did not do ourselves our you proud. You were a great manager
To be fair to Jim he didn’t go home too unhappy that day so I hear. Not that I’d know as I was -3 at the time. Anyway, RIP.
Proper 'old school' manager, we had some great wins on that cup run, thanks for the memories, RIP Jim...
Sad news & yes he was one of our better managers, great cup run & team had peaked but after match to early RIP JIM
R.I.P. “THE BALD EAGLE”, Never made it complicated and his teams were more often than not a pleasure to watch.
One of the very best, that night at Anfield was absolutely brilliant 4 goals and we never scored any of them, pity about the final,
I remember the QF when we beat Chelsea (always a good feeling) at the Bridge with Mick Robinson scoring from the halfway line.
A good guy.... One of the first manager's to introduce wing backs.....way ahead of his time.... According to beeb he managed derby and Oxford....no mention of us....quelle surprise... RIP
Definitely one of our best managers, gave us some great memories and knew how to succeed. RIP Jim & thank you for the great memories.
