Having slept on it Im not fussed mate the honeymoon period is over now . Sean longstaff is going to be sold to man united i sense and we will lose nion every game without max. He's buttering the remaining fans before delivering the next big blow.
It's a sensible move for a number of reasons - though none of them feature these ridiculous conspiracies, everything Mike Ashley does is simple, that's how he is. 1) It's dead money. Better to have people paying for food/drinks/merch at the ground, than an empty seat. He is well aware that nobody is paying for these tickets whilst he's there. 2) Better PR for the club. Some may even buy into the "magnanimous" gesture, but either way a full SJP is a more saleable asset than one with less than 40,000 in it. 3) Better for the team. SJP is flat, has been for a while, and whilst we all know only Ashley leaving will truly changing it, letting 10,000 more people in has got to be a good thing. Personally I think trying to make a stand against him doesn't work. He'll sell when a) he's ready, and b) gets an offer he wants. No other circumstances will help. Ticket income is negligible - he spent more of his own cash (or offered to) on Joelinton than he'd make back in ticket sales, so he can personally cover the shortfall easily. I just think we need to get over it and be the bigger man here (figuratively). I don't think Bruce has done a lot wrong. It's nice that the bloke in the dugout actually cares whether we win or lose - that's a big step up from idiots like McLaren. He's got the backing of the players and when we're always going to be limited as a team, having passion and attitude is more important than ever. We need either tactical genius (Rafa) or commitment and effort (Bruce) to survive, but if the fans were behind the team it would be a lot better, for everyone. I'd like to see people accept that the 90 minutes aren't relevant to Mike, and that those 90 minutes are exclusively theirs. Outside of that, you can choose to moan, complain on Twitter, rant on Not606, or whatever - or you can choose not to. But if you choose to go to a match - and I hope more and more fans do - then your choice is to have as much fun as possible, have drinks, enjoy the game, shout the lads on and enjoy the theatre and spectacle of being at St James Cathedral. Just my opinion, like.
If the goal of the protests was free tickets then I agree. If the goal is to rid the club of Mike Ashley, I strongly disagree.
the goal is to get the owner to show some respect to the fans and get the club moving fwd or sell and it's working. we spent money are doing well and he's getting better with pr.
I can't see how this is a benefit to the people that paid for a full ticket tbh, so I've concluded that the next blow is coming soon.
No, I don't think so. Nobody is getting sold. We may lose Willems to someone with more money in May, but nobody is going in Jan. This method was just the most sensible - reward those with season tickets, who are more than likely those with the most staunch NUFC fans as friends and who will then actually use it. If you make it a free-for-all, there's touts, mackems and other such filth that might do something out of spite. As with all things Ashley, Occam's razor usually applies, as in the simplest reason is usually the correct one.
I fail to see how any fan with a ticket see this as a personal reward and anyone with half a brain would realise it's a slap in the face to those that didn't renew and more aimed at making his clubs value not take a hit. I'm convinced a big hit is coming and he's going to do his usual press interview in which he lists all the great things he's done. he's upto something my friend I'm not sure what it is , but he's upto something .
Jan transfer window looms large mate, expect the seasonal "we have a potential buyer for the club and the deal is closer than one ever has been" to be wheeled out. How ****ing stupid does he think we are? I really hope every season ticket holder takes the free half season ticket option up and lets the seat sit there empty for the rest of the season. Anyone who was thinking of renewing for next season, just don't and you might get a free half one next season.
I suppose it's just a coincidence that there were 10k empty seats against Southampton and 10k free half season tickets become available?
The all round downside of this freebie offer is that there's obviously no serious buyers on the horizon. If there had been then this gesture would either have been held back or never been sanctioned. The feel good factor would have meant any new owner could have sold the 10k tickets many times over.
Think the club is on the verge of being sold, actually. I think they want to do whatever they can to avoid jeopardising the deal and a few more decent results helped by the crowd might seal the deal. If you knew going back could have that impact, would you return? I'd give it one last push, personally.
he might be right there's certainly something going on and you should see the plane at Newcastle airport
My mate Baz has 4 ST’s so got me one as I can’t get to all games. I’m gonna give him £100 for his trouble as I was paying £40 a game to him for plat club (Jak and Crone know). I jacked my ST due to work commitments not cos of Bruce. It’s a good gesture to be fair.
