If there was a Lab/SNP coalition does anyone know the implications of Scottish independence? I'd imagine negotiating a withdrawal agreement from the UK would take some doing, splitting the National Dept with them, the armed forces, the BBC, North Sea oil etc. Then who subsidicies them whilst they wait for EU membership and what currency do they use, could they do it all before they were bankrupt?

    BBC

Posts have also circulated on social media claiming the photo was staged - but the editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, which first reported the story, assured readers the paper went to "great lengths to establish the story was true" and confirmed it with the hospital.

    Ashworth

But Anneliese Dodds, a shadow Treasury minister, tells the World at One: "I don't think he looks like a plonker."

She describes how Mr Ashworth is "somebody who's very, very funny" who "frequently has people in stitches" and who "does engage in banter".

And she dismisses the leak of the conversation as "slightly desperate tactics from the Tories at this stage".

On the Scottish side of things, the polling is suggesting that in a 2nd Indyref that if the UK remains in the EU that remain would be a strong win, but if we do Brexit that leave would be a strong win.

She(Sturgeon)can't even answer the question on currency and her popularity is waning up here, her sole aim in life is independence and I can assure you that there are many up here who wish to remain in the U.K.

She is allowing the Country to fall to bits instead of dealing with the more important issues like the NHS and School performance indicators.

It's slightly complicated to explain but it's a bit like Northern Ireland in terms of religious divide i.e.:- Protestant/Catholic.Most protestants I know wish to remain in the union and most Catholics I know want independence.

Latest polls suggest that she'd lose a referendum by a bigger margin than the first one so maybe she'll **** off back to her cage for a while!! Can't stand the woman personally.

Don't know where people get this 2nd indyref thing from, there have been two already, the first one was in the seventies.

The Scottish referendum in 1979 wasn't about independence.

56% would vote against independence according to this weeks YouGov poll. and only 42% think there should be a second referendum.

This story sinks lower and lower with its intentions easy to interpret.

The original source of the 'Nurse at Leeds hospital' counter story claims her account was hacked:

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2...-hacked-to-post-fake-story-about-hospital-boy

More Twitter bots spreading more lies, being also regurgitated unchecked by journalists from the right-wing media.

    Check everything. Question everything.

Anyway, great response from the YP Editor, the likes of Peston and Laura K could learn a thing or two from him:

True but I'd be wary of all polls like that. Often rigged to pressure opinion than represent it.

Plus, in the heat of an emotive campaign, anything can happen.

If the SNP win big in 2020 - it will turn up a few notches.

The whole boy lying on a coat thing has turned into a farce, it wasn't much of a story to start with, Johnson then handled the photo thing really badly and it's been getting progressively more farcical from last night to now. I can't wait for the ****-show of an election to be over.

It's highly amusing to watch and read about from afar. The levels of anger, lack of control and frustration towards the other team online are reminiscent of early online football rivalries.

Has our political election now reached rock bottom when we genuinely don’t know what we see on social media is true or not. Anyone with a mobile can whip up something, put it out there and cause chaos. The amount of bullshit I have seen posted and followed over the years, political or not is embarrassing. No respect at all. Once upon a time there was politicians on all sides who where seen as decent regardless of who you voted for. It’s ****ing chaos out there now.

I have no idea the true story regarding the boy in the NHS photo. It’s quite possibly true. We are heading towards gridlock again on Thursday and God help us:

Funny how this senior nursing sister has all these good friends who all use exactly the same text in their tweets.

I'm seeing 'Get Brexit Done' left right and Bransholme centre.

But even if the Tories win a 50 seat majority Brexit won't be done for years.

The last trade the EU negotiated was the CETA with Canada. That took from 2009 to 2016 to conclude.

The last trade deal US negotiated was KORUS FTA with South Korea. That took from 2006 to 2012.

Add into the fact that the US actively what no deal and the EU want a deal with UK because of Ireland.

I think with the Tories you'll be lucky to have 'Brexit Done' by 2030.
