The players who were being asked to behave, train and diet like highly paid professionals went behind the manager's back to complain about it. The second the club backed the players, over the manager, was when it started to go wrong for me. Whatever you think of Di Canio he must have walked into the dressing room, on the first day of training and thought, "Mamma mia, I'm fitter than half of this shower of shyte." And now, here we are reaping what we sowed.
And still is Smug. Exactly where we deserve to be after stabbing the only bloke in the back who wanted to do what was asked of him.
Beggars belief for me that any player doesn't want to be the best that he can be through whatever means possible - diet, training, whatever. Some of them behave like kids trying to get away with the minimum ffs.
Exactly, it's just come out the Daryl Murphy was done for snorting cocaine. FFS man, we cheer these people on.
It's one of the things that has disappointed me most about Parkinson, we were told to expect a high press, high energy game but instead half the squad can't be arsed and the pressing game turned into long balls to Grigg of all people. If there are any available managers in the Di Canio mould that's who I'd go for.
Same here, the dressing room was rotten to the core, I dont think it is anywhere near as bad now but there are one or two who need to go, the on field attitude is there for all too see, and the rot will spread if it is not dealt with now once and for all..
