I was rushed into HRI Friday and transferred to Castle Hill early hours Sat morning. I was very well looked after by great professional staff with what seem quality equipment. On arrival on the ward I noticed Two police officers overseeing a member of the public also in for whatever reason. About 2 in the morning there was a big crash as the idiot chucked stuff around. Detained by the police correctly the hospital staff calmly carried on. How professional of both the services. Whatever side of the political spectrum we all stand on aim sure we all agree the tosses should of been chucked out of the hospital. Yet he still got looked at while cuffed and crying to himself. Now he was a waste of all our tax paying money.

I was in Glasgow Royal Infirmary some years ago and a drug user decided to go and have a smoke in the toilet.Half of Glasgow's fire engines were dispatched, promptly arrived and wards were in chaos.

Our NHS cannot cope due to overwhelming numbers of 'wasters',the rapidly increasing population(due to people living longer and an influx of European immigrants who took advantage of our open borders policy),some who add to our economy and some who most certainly don't!!!

Locally, I consider Labour to have profoundly deceived and let down this city over many decades.

Their shctick is "You need us to protect you from them evil snobby Tory bastards".

Only they haven't . Hull has been on life support for many decades, compared to most other cities of a comparable size. This stagnation or even decay has continued steadily regardless of who is in no. 10.

Even when we had a deputy PM we had no real change.

The time must surely have come for even the densest Labour voter to question the point of voting for these complacent dimbos, who ignored their decision on Brexit.

Karl Turner's loyalty is to his own political caeer, and keeping Momentum happy lest he risks deselection like 'too moderate' Diana Johnson.

The vast majority of Labour voters in Hull do not inhabit the same political universe as the sinister ****s of Momentum, who see their tribal voters as cannon fodder, useful only for electing yet another Far Left candidate into a safe Labour seat.

This current Labour Party is not fit to represent the people of Hull. FFS, vote them out and show them the same contempt they have shown to their electorate.

CHCP which runs most of the 'NHS' services in Hull is not part of the NHS.
The private services which run in the NHS so well tend to be those(contracts) that make/ take profit, soon as the profit margins drop they tend to go back / are rescued by the NHS, this is one of the reasons the NHS looks more ' inefficient '

NHS is overstretched: yeah, who let all these extra patients in?

Schools are way too full: yeah who let all the extra pupils in?

Housing shortage: yeah who let in all those extra people in?

Wages are too low: yeah, who let all those extra workers in?

Don't let the liberal MSM shift the focus of the problem or absolve New Labour for their responsibilities for the misery so many now endure.

Who has been in government for the past 9 years and in charge of dealing with those issues? It's not New Labour.

Very true...All mates together in a clique. I used to work for HCC many many years ago, in the Right to Buy section. The first person in Hull to apply to purchase his council house after Labour lifted their opposition, was a Labour party councillor. Says it all, really.
Then you've got the likes of Coun Hale, who decided to raise the issue of Palestine. Yes, its very wrong what's happening there, but surely he should be concentrating on the citizens of his ward, not a land about 3,000 miles away.

New Labour created this squeeze on housing, schools, hosps and wages?

They reckoned we'd get 15,000 Poles tops.

No wonder they made no provision for the hundreds of thousands who came (and who continue to come)

Do you remember Gordon Brown rubbishing that lifelong Labour voter in Rochdale who complained to him about too many Poles arriving?

That;s why you got voted out Gordon.

Wasn’t he saying that the money has gone out of the country, but then back into Hull (as you’re suggesting I think) but that it was his view that if it hadn’t have gone out of the country in the first place it wouldn’t have ended up in Hull?

The NHS is very far from perfect but I suggest you have a look at healthcare in the US and compare it to the UK
to see why it's such an important thing to protect

We are discussing a third party reported conversation here so...

Maybe that is what he meant: we pay our taxes but don't get them spent on our region, but we get more back from the Brussels pot we pay into!

What does that say about our local politicians and their effectiveness?

Would hate to have that **** defending me in court.

I always smile when some dimbo bleats about EU handouts for Britain as if we are a receiver rather than massive contributor of EU money.

    You couldn't make it up!

Can I just ask, for my own amusement, who you consider the "liberal MSM" to be? As in, exactly which outlets do you think are biased towards the left, liberalism and Labour?

Brexit is a dumpster fire, by the way, it's about taxes, nothing else. Rich people with offshore bank accounts end up getting investigated in 2020, so they push to have us leave to protect our own interests. Make up a load of nationalistic nonsense to convince people it's for the benefit of the country. Didn't use to fall for that sort of thing, the general public, but a chance to return to the "good old days" was too good to pass up, I guess.

For those wondering how much funding the NHS requires? Empty your bank account and cook the Xmas turkey over a barbeque pit using scrunched up tenners as fuel. Skint, and raw turkey.

Solving the problems? Get rid of the mini empires. I was kept in hospital waiting for the antibiotic whizz kid to tell me on the Thursday, something I had known since the weekend. These give you the ****s.

Also bed sores. Every couple of hours, can we check please? Which ambulance chaser got a huge payout for his 48 stone, needs a crane to lift him/her?

Any views as to what the fact that Johnson’s deal means there will be customs barrier in the Irish Sea will do to the vote?

other than that the deal is pretty much identical to May’s, but it had been a ‘red line’ before

I’m asking it as a genuine question, as I don’t know the answer. You would think it would be a big deal for people in Northern Ireland, but will people on the mainland really care?

    I don’t know I must say

Also I assume that to get a FTA done before the end of 2020 will require major concessions to the EU. So maybe no deal, and despite gloomy financial predictions many seem ok with that, or more likely a deal which will still see the EU fishing in UK waters fir example. Those things don’t seem to be making much difference to voting either do they? Are people assuming that assumption is wrong, or are they ok either way? Interesting to see.
