    As we approach the end of the decade, just saw this on the official and thought it will be interesting to see what people think;

    https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/choose-your-qpr-xi-of-the-decade/

    To help jog the memory;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Queens_Park_Rangers_F.C._players#Players

    Of course there are some players I'd love to include but no space, and others I am sure I have missed, but here would be my 11;

    Smithies

    Hill Gorkss Onuoha

    Faurlin

    Ainsworth Buzsàky Taarabt Cook

    Mackie Eze

    Who would yours be? Discuss...

    No Charlie? Or maybe Richard Dunne? And always had a soft spot for Sean Derry

    Forgot about Charlie, would probably have him, Dunne was coming toward the end of his career when he was with us, but you have reminded me of Ryan Nelsen, although he didn't play many games. Loved Sean Derry too, but wouldn't have him over Faurlin.

    That front 4!

    Would slightly edit your back 4 personally:

    Walker, Hill, Onuoha, Bidwell

    But the defence is really slim pickings!

    Obviously, I can understand your preference for Walker but I ignored him on the basis that he was a loan player, not an R, with no emotional connection to the club.

    But Bidwell? Really? He was sort of competent, sometimes, but really ordinary, at best. As a left back, Manning has done more this season than Bidwell did in 2 years or more. Rather slim pickings in defence, as you say.

    Bidwell???????

    I seen him play live about 50 times and I can honestly say, I only ever saw him play a handful of decent games. Think I would have Armand Traore ahead of Bidwell and that's saying something.

    My own personal preference would be Clint Hill. I know he played mostly Centre Half but he also played Left Back and I thought we were always quite strong defensively when he played there.

    My 11 starters would be;
    Kenny
    Walker Onouha Dunne Hill
    Faurlin Derry Taarabt
    Eze
    Austin Remy

    Ha! I know, I thought I might get this reaction re Bidwell. The problem is I wanted Hill at centre back and so couldn't put him at LB. Slightly reticent to stick Manning there as he's played so few games there. Couldn't actually think of many decent wing backs for either side tbh. So Bidwell it was! Who I always thought was solid defensively despite being rubbish going forwards.

    Yes but pretty sad that not one of them would get in the 50 year team!

    By the time he came to us, Hill was slowing up quite a bit and I think, overall, for the team of the decade, we would be better playing to his CB strengths and having someone younger and quicker at LB. I know it's still early days for Manning but you've got to be able to spot and encourage long-term potential relatively early (he's actually made 71 appearances) and I think he's got it.

    Jack Robinson was a very talented left-sided player. Whilst he mainly played as a CB for us, I always thought that, at a higher level, he'd be better as a left full back, despite not being blessed with real pace. However, the manner of his departure meant that I don't see him as having a trace of blue and white blood in his veins and this biological condition was a pre-requisite for my team of the decade. Hence Manning gets my vote. I also see this as a nod to the talent amongst our current squad; in this context, it was hard to leave Eze out but he'd be on my very strong bench.

    Fair points really. I wouldn't hesitate to stick Manning in as a wing back, it's just as a more traditional full back where I still have slight reservations. But you argue the case well and I like the idea of putting confidence in the current team so I'll change my answer and stick Manning in!

    There aren't many stand out players are there...I originally included Padula, ****tu and Carlisle...then I realised their best days were well over 10 years ago. Made me feel old.

    Bloody Luke Young - Samba - Anton Ferhinand - Boswanker

    Granero - Ji-Sun Park - SWP - Dyer

    JET - Maiga

    **** sake, we had some ****e players on our books at times! Much happier with our squad these days
