Our luck has only just begun Sparky - a dodgy penalty decision finally goes in our favour after years of being confounded by them - even picking up official apologies from the EFL after the refereeing debacle at Villa last season. LJ also seems to have read and digested my call for Elliasson to start - and he is on fire! After months of ‘meh’ we are starting to come together quite nicely!!!
R&W - not sure when your "good luck" started pal, but you had a fair bit against us. Said on here at the time we weren't good enough on the day and didn't deserve to win that game, but then again, neither did you. We played some half decent stuff on times but Brownhill's shot from distance went under the bar whereas, Hoilett's and Bacuna's thudded against it. That one could have gone either way, but c'est la vie, you got the 3 points and we move on.
I suppose it depends on your definition of ‘luck’ - you dominated that game but didn’t convert your chances. To some that’s bad luck (for you) and good luck (for us). However, without trying to sound harsh, those events were actually down to imperfection in your team’s efforts rather than luck in my book, whereas the referee making a poor decision is outside the control of either side and could result in a perfectly good goal being disallowed (Weimann had about 6 struck off last season!), or as was the case on Saturday, a penalty not being given, which likely meant 3 points gained for us and 3 points dropped for Fulham, assuming they would have scored from it.
Couldn't agree more. The point I was making was the "luck" of being either side of that 115mm crossbar.
Hey Sparky - I’m coming over to Cardiff on Thursday night - fancy a beer and a football chat? My son has an interview with the police college on Friday and we are going up on the Thursday so we can have an easier start on Friday - he’s starting at 08:00. PM me if you want .....
Hi R&W - is your son's interview with the Police Training College at the SWP Headquarters in Bridgend?
I've PM'd you. If you're coming from Cardiff to Bridgend PTC on Friday with your boy, that's much nearer for me.
Get ready to sit in the M4 traffic at Newport where our wonderful first minister said it ain’t that bad.
It starts about 3pm and goes on till about 7pm, Fridays are worse. I have to go to my dads ( hospital at the moment) from Flax Bourton and only Mondays is sort of bearable. When I see him any other days I base myself either in Llanwern that day or Taffs Well. Why they don’t think it warrants a new relief road is beyond me. But the clown thinks it’s not as bad as people make out.
Hope your dad is ok mate - I know what it’s like to have medical issues and it’s not fun - good luck.
Hello guys - this may be incidental in the great scheme of things, but then there's always been a competitive edge between our clubs and long may it continue. You've clearly had the upper hand so far this season, but it's the first chance for us to get above you in the table. First we've got to beat Preston at home in the early kick off tomorrow, and then you'd have to go to Hillsborough and lose on Sunday for that to happen. Strangely enough, our goal differences are exactly the same, with 34 for and 32 against for both clubs. As we go into Christmas and the New Year, a lot could depend up on January imports for both of us - but at which end of the pitch? Looks like we're both letting them in at the back, but there's not many clubs scoring more than us. EDIT - my apologies, I'll have to change your fixture time in my post - didn't realise you were playing on Sunday.
Hi OS Yes, we have a nice easy trip to 'in form' Sheffield Wednesday ! You wouldn't give us a hope in hell up there given the current form of both teams, but it's a mad division at times and anything can happen, as aside from WBA and those perennial chokers Leeds, you could throw a blanket over the next 12 or so clubs so close is the standard of them ! They're all pretty unpredictable basically !
At the halfway stage in the season, 4 of the top six spots seem up for grabs from a dozen or more sides. Brom and Leeds must surely finish top 6 if not autos, so it's the other 4 spots that are all to play for.
Both crap then, but we're one point nearer. I think we should both aim for 7th place and be less than 10 points behind the Wendies - then wait for their points deduction.
