We could do with getting a goal or two before the show pony comes on as there have been a couple of balls into our box he would probably have got on the end of.
Very drab. Very dull. We played well for 20 minutes then went to sleep. Slow build up. Needs to get quicker.
Decent first half, this is how Newcastle play from what I've seen under Bruce, minimal possession. We have looked comfortable without really creating much. Only chances I can think of were the one on one for Redmond from a misplaced pass from them and the chance from the pin ball from a corner after.
Feel like we should be 1 up maybe. Djenepo is a bit loose in possession, but not a bad team performance. Definitely room for improvement. Would like to see Boufal at some point, but see how the 2nd half goes.
Maybe its the happy hour Stella, but am pleased with how we are playing. Ball retention is good going forwards, alot less playing across the midfield, being more direct. Shame Redders missed the one on one but feel this is a good performance considering what has happened to date this season. Alot more confidence being shown. Lets not forget NU are unbeaten in 6 games at home.
I would say Newcastle are letting us play as we are. Not a bad performance, but we are harrly turning possession into chances. I want to slag Djenepo off again so that he will be brilliant second half. What a frustrating player!
Good performance against a packed defence. Its more like playing at home as Newcastle playing deep with a five man defence. Little or no room to play in in the final third All working hard and should be one up. Dejempo needs to get in the game a bit more but a change for Boufal at about 60 mins should do the job if we don't score
Surprised he did not hit a pile driver when he got the ball just outside the box when he has a chance late in the half and hooked a heavy through ball, but as you write, can be a game changer in the second half.
Despite him touching the ball dozens of times the only thing I can recall him doing was over hitting a simple pass through to Redmond. One of those games so far for him.
All our problems are coming down our right side. The combination of Djenepo and Cedric is leaving us wide open.
